Me and My New 2010 E92 335i
The background:
So I have been looking to get a BMW for a couple of years now. I drove a Dodge Ram with a Hemi daily and was tired of large size and the poor ride/handling. I decided a car was the way to go, and could only get excited over the BMW looks/performance. I never really liked the muscle cars. I really got interested into the E90 platform because of the M3 with that wonderful V8. Eventually, I realized the price of admission was too high for one of those, but I could go for a 335i/328i and still get a great car. The search: I have spent too many hours watching autotrader and craigslist and the forums looking for the right car to plop down cash for. I HAD to have MT, M Sport, Coupe, Leather, and the Color combo had to be just right. So, the search took quite a while. Just a week ago, I decided on what I thought was the right car. The car: 2010 Le Mans Blue E92 335i M-Sport with Black Leather - My ideal car Premium and Cold Weather Packages. It has the Power Pack Kit. It has the Performance Exhaust. It has Black Kidney Grills. It also has some scoops behind the kidneys to guide air into the intake. The Drive: As soon as I purchased this car I drove it 250 miles home. I got to experience dry weather and rain on both highway and back roads in the light and the dark - All on the first day. Let me just say that I absolutely love this car! It handles great, looks great, has a great motor, sounds great, and I just love everything about it right now. The Motor: I originally test drove a stock N55 at the dealer and comparatively, the N54 that I have is missing some bottom end. It felt like the N55 just had better power below 3k RPM. However, the way my car is configured, after 3k RPM it leaves the stock N55 in outright pull and screams to red line. The power and sound it makes with the PPK and PE is amazing! So happy I found a car with these things already installed. The Suspension: The suspension is quite firm, but I like it. It still absorbs bumps very nicely while providing stiffness and little roll in the corners. Maybe it is just me, but how does the wheel gap look on my car? Stock suspension? The Handling: It handles great. I like the weighted steering and it turns on a dime. The chassis flows through turns never getting upset by small bumps. The car also handles wet roads very well, without feeling disconnected through small puddles. I am so happy to finally have this car, it has been my dream for a few years now. Thanks for all of the input on this site, as I used it heavily in researching these cars and learning more about them. Now I will go |

Congrats! That's an awesome color combo. Le Mans Blue is one of two non-Individual colors that would make me trade my Alpine White car in; the other being Melbourne Red.

Congrats! Your car looks amazing. If I could find my car all over again, I'd try to be as patient as you and find one with everything that I want now. I bought mine immediately after driving my buddy's 135i with a jb4 and didn't bother reading up on all the goodies I should look for before buying. Now I know. Great find!

Looks awesome. And to answer your question RE: wheel gap. That does look like stock sport suspension to me. Looks just like mine

Thank you all for the nice comments!
I absolutely melted this morning as I backed it out of the driveway. It drives like brand new and has 42000 miles on it. I look back at it all of the time admiring the Le Mans blue. |

Great choice with the N54. Once you get a tune (and dont kid yourself, you will eventually) you will never look back at the N55.
BTW, the OEM M sport coupe is one of the best looking fronts on any E9X, IMHO. |

Yeah congrats. I'm a recent purchaser too and can say these forums are your best friend. Also to solve that low end torque go buy a Cobb AP
