Guys, I've been working on this in my spare time on and off for a few weeks.
I'm also still shopping for a car with X drive, I really need it sitting in the driveway for a few months to get this done properly as a complete solution and not something cludged together. It's either that or a complete x drive system including the control module sitting on the test bench I can hook up to...if anyone has access to parts they are willing to donate/ship my way that works too. |

Hey everybody, I am sorry in advance if this was covered somewhere with the 19 pages, I gave up after page 10 lol. However I did this for a little bit the other night and i noticed the RWD stay on and wheel spin however when I was at highway speeds I was hearing a squealing noise. I am guessing this is the front disengaging and there is nothing to disengage. Any input here?

awesome vid bro.. now if there was only a way to keep our tunes on in the 335s when we pull the fuse. But my understanding is that windshield wipers and sensors go crazy.
I hope we get some new development on this. Thanks for everyone that is doing such hardwork on this project. Over 40k views on this thread! |

AMINI you realize you are like 40 minutes away from TERRY? Take your XI to him and see if he can come up with a tune for us to switch to rear wheel drive on command... except you have a 330i... Maybe it'll be the same! Who knows. Worth a shot. i will pay pal you some gas money
just do it. |

and just in case you don't know that is Terry Burger of Burger Tuning that makes the JB4 for the n54 cars. We've (everyone in the thread) has been looking for someone local to him so he can have a car to figure out how to disable awd on command. His website is Burgertuning.com

looks like we have a second amini! send us your email and we'll get you paypal'd up.
On another note, Blake I can't imagine what 1200 ft/lbs of torque feels like. Is your truck running on stock suspension? Jacked up? Lowered? |

1,200 was a pretty modest estimate. Possibly around 1,400 TQ with a custom tune (which is coming next). I used to have two of them, both pushing around 600 HP/1300 TQ. The one I just sold dyno'd 578 on a DynoJet. It was listed 4" on 35's, but I had no doubt that it could break into the 12's with ease.

yes - it's got to be the longest no-content thread on the forum, except the "spotted" threads.

Terry's exact reply:
"Not something I've had time to look in to, sorry." Guess it's not going to happen for a while. Although if he does, I let him know I'm one of the few xdrive's in SoCal lol and to let me know if he looks into it. |

The STi can't be 100% RWD. It has a nob that allows you to make the power 80% rear 20% front, 70/30% etc. but that would def be a bad ass feature in the XI models.
