And the odometer shows this light Then I changed to another pair of ballasts and the flickering problem was solved. However, the light on the odometer is still there. Thank you. So what I need is the HID canceller. One more question, they have 2 types of voltage as they said "We have both 9-16V and 9-32V available. Please make a note of the voltage that you want. If not, we will send you a random voltage."
What voltage do I need for my 35W HID H7? The link to buy is here http://www.ebay.com/itm/HID-WARNING-...a29be2&vxp=mtr |

Oh really? so what kind of ballast is the right one for BMW? I thought ballast are same just different in 35W or 55W.
And if I already bought this ballast (no return) :-(, is there anyway to cure the problem? Does HID canceller helps? |

HID in a halogen reflector set up! You are going to blind every one on the road. It is sad that some people never get the message inspite of hundreds of thread on the internet.

You can try putting in capacitors before the ballast. I had flickering issues with my HID fog lights and I soldered a 4700uF 35v capacitor on each side. Solved the problem.
However, I would suggest you getting some projectors such as DEPOs.

These people will never figure it out. They all want the brightest lights, sounds like little man syndrome.

Can't you contact the place where you got the kit and see? Many Euros and current cars need the canceller to hv it run properly without flickering and error codes. Surprised they didn't let you know you need one when you place order

you need proper Canbus ballasts. And potentially a harness + resistors to eliminate the code OR have your car codded.
Either ways, don't run HIDs on reflector headlights. It'll blind other people.

I agree however, BMW should have never made their bi-xenon lights an option.. That is something that should come standard on cars like these. I really didn't pay much attention to the headlights when I was buying my car, It had the sport package and navigation, so I was satisfied. But other cars like infinity come standard with projectors; BMWs should have too.. Can't blame people for trying to make their cars look like they were suppose to from the factory. I know HIDs are not the best option, but xenon conversions take time, money, and wiring and coding knowledge, when it overall probably won't increase the value of your car. Its all personal preference though, I guess.

Not until BMW decided to go the cheap way and have customers pay for every single feature there is. When I also bought my car I did not have to hussle for any features or packages since my car came fully loaded as standard.

You either needed it coded or need the correct ballast for BMW's.
We have them on sale if you need one. Although 2006-2007 models are finicky no matter what anyone tells you. If I had either of those years I would just get the car coded and be done. However, you are more then welcome to try out BMW HID Kit as it has been error free for 99% of people. There is a lot of misinformation in this thread so be careful. The only 100% certain solution is to get the car code, the rest of the ideas are just guesses. Error cancellers may or may not work, no guarantees. Most of the customers we get stem from people who bought the ebay and were disappointed in the results. |
