How do i program a new adaptive headlight module I installed?
Hello to make an incredibly long and frustrating story short. My car has been down for over a month. I got an adaptive headlight warning and driver side was not going up or down left and right. assumed the headlight had broken internally. Sent them to OSS got the led rings done and he swapped the internals of the driver side projector etc.. He also sent me a spare AHL module. I plugged them in no go. I then plugged in the extra module he sent, but on start up the lights do opposite things, driver starts up and goes down, passenger goes up and levels etc.. So im assuming i need to code/program that module to the car and some how calibrate the lights?
Dealer wants $236 is this relatively easy to do with the cable I can buy and do myself? Can someone point me in the direction? Im out $700+ already to OSS but atleast i have kool looking headlights, unfortunately they just do not operate as they should . If the coding can be done somewhat easy Id like to do it myself, if not I will just take it to dealer and caugh up the $236 I suppose which Im sure is an hour or less of work for them :-/ |

Yes an hour will be enough, you just need basic knowledge about operating winkfp, with it just add vin to adaptive module ( good idea is to update software in them, and if you replace only one module its a must-do ) then recode adaptive modules and calibrate them with inpa and keep your finger crossed that this will be enough

what do u mean be enough? Is there any DIY on the specific coding of that module or is it self explanatory or? I have decent computer knowledge but have never used any bmw coding software winkfp or inpa. I just went to an idy shop with an auto logic, just to be told my FRM was out, and he still charged me $50 which im going to dispute the charge on. biggest idiot/ghetto shop Ive ever been to in my life

I dont thing there is diy for it since many coders want big money for it, doing it by yourself its not the luckyest idea since tool32 and winkfp are really mighty and dangerous soft.
I can provide an email to a guy who do remote coding or try to find some coder near your place. |

They,
Were you able to code the new AHL module? I'm in the same boat as you but need to code both AHL modules as neither does what its suppose to do on start up on my lci headlights (got them from another member on here). Can you offer any help?

If the module is used it will not write the Vin to match the Cas. Also if your trying to get a module on the car thats not working because of a short circuit counter has been triggered, you can reflash the frm module and it will work again. But after you need to address the bulb error messages or else it will sooner or later get to a counter number and lock out the circuit again.

Mine is from another BMW and I was only able to get the right one to work. The left one didn't. I've given up for now and probably just going to buy new modules eventually and program them for my car.

Also, is it correct that coding the FRM should code the AHL modules on the headlights too (so that eg they know which one is left/right)? |

To change VIN you can use WinKfp. Comfort mode / Enter ZUSB / Update ZUSB / ENTER VIN / Programm. If you replaced your FRM module you have to follow steep A first and on the and step B. |
