I did not get it. It has always been my understanding that if you're going to be doing a lot of high speed driving, it might be a good idea. But it also takes some getting used to at the lower speeds. After almost 1 full year without it, I don't miss it. And yes, I have driven a 335 that did have it, albeit not for very long, and not over 100.

It seems to me if you look at folks signatures or other configurations they've posted, almost none have opted for the active steering that I've seen (myself included).
I'm not sure if its because its a pricey option or folks just don't want to "modify" their driving experience and prefer plain old power steering...

Is is just me, or does it seem that the steering will stiffin up at higher speeds without the active steering? Am I smoking crack here?

I remember one magazine review I read (I think it was C&D) where they said that their test car "thankfully did not have active steering".
I'm not getting it.

I've driven cars with and without it for extended periods, and I can honestly say I prefer having it. With that being said, the option isn't really a must have, but if you're loading up on options and don't care about price, I'd get it, obviously doesn't make the car handle any better, but it just FEELS better if that makes any sense. Either way it's a great car, with or without it.
