Appointment set for Friday 9/7. I'm thinking 35% on the front driver and passenger, and 15% on the rear sides and back. But maybe I'll say "F IT!" and do 15% all around.......

Both Caleb and John from the Bellevue shop followed up with me (kudos), and I've made an appointment for 9/10, for Pinnacle F1 35% all around. I don't want to go too dark.

Annoyingly Seattle Accutint didn't want to deal with my Coupe without starting out with a vinyl strip on the back window
So, it's going in to have a clear-bra put on it, and I guess I'll take it elsewhere for the tint. |

"let's see how the first one lays down, then bring it back in and we'll try to get it to lay down again. If that doesn't work we can do the vinyl strip" The .matrix really would look better completely blacked out IMHO. |

It's not practical for me to leave my car for the day at Bellevue sadly. How's yours looking now? |

Looks great save for the .matrix in the back. I'll take it in in another week or so when I have time and have them touch it up or put the vinyl overlay on it if necessary.

A follow up: Did anybody have felt added to their wipers by Accutint? I've read it is an issue, particularly for post March '07 builds.

Why would you need to add felt to your wipers? Did you get your front windshield tinted as well?
By the way: Tomorrow (Monday) I'll bring in my baby for the tint. I'm hoping for the best. I'll post pictures later this week.

Accutint wanted $40 per window to the felting. That, combined with Jon at Accutint talking me out of it, I skipped the extra felting. I think that is a choice I'm going to regret...... No, I didn't get the windshield tinted. I went with F1 Pinnacle 35% on all the sides and 15% on the rear window. That was Caleb's suggestion, and I think it is a good option. I actually would have preferred 15% all around, but the wife thinks the 35% is just perfect. Since it is technically her car (yeah, as if!) we went with it. I'm real happy with the results, and I'll post pics after the full cure is done.

Whazz-up Scollins! So, how is the tint turn out? For the $40 felting, you do know we also get a 25% off that too right? I have got it on my girl's TXS.

Yeah, but that is still $120 and would have brought the total to $500. Having just spent a ton of money on home improvements (more like 2 or 3 tons of money), every expenditure right now is under heavy scrutiny. I need to win the lottery!

Update: The tint job looks very nice so far. The usual curing to happen, really only on the dot matrix. But Jon told me to come back later in the week (Thursday or so) to fix the issues, if necessary.
I brought the car in at 8am, and picked it up around 5pm. No issues so far. Nice job. The 35% tint looks very inobtrusive, but I felt the heat reduction straight away, while driving in the glorious sunshine. Unfortunately no driving with the windows down for a couple of days, but that's ok I guess. I will take some pictures once the curing is done.

Look forward to the pics! I took my car in to Seattle at 9am this morning, to get the bra done. They promised I could have it back at 4pm. I just called (3:50pm) "Oops.... sorry, we're running late. It'll be 5:30". I don't know if they were waiting for me to pitch before they told me that or what. Somewhat ruins my plans for the evening - seems to be an overrunning time trend here  Hopefully they'll have done an amazing job, and all will be well with the world UPDATE: OK, they did a really nice job. They could have called me and said that it was done, but it looks great - so I'm happy Last edited by alistair; 09-12-2007 at 11:16 AM.. |

I've attached some pictures of the car with the Pinnacle F1 35% tint. Finally got around to wash it and take some pictures. As you can see the dot matrix still looks shabby, but I'm still contemplating whether to put the vinyl strip on. If someone had that done, could you post a pic of how it looks.

e92dutchie, how long have you had Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S and what are your impressions of them? Would you recomment those tires? How bad is tramlining?

I put them on at 500 miles. So far 11k miles, and everything is fine. I like them, they are all-weather tires and definitely give a lot of grip in wet conditions. I don't really drive the car in the snow, like some days last winter. Of course there is some tramlining, but only on certain stretches of road, like I-90 between 520 and Issaquah, but not worse than the 17-inch Goodyear PS1s on my friend's 5 series. Definitely a lot better than the runflats and quieter as well. I chose them based on the reviews on Tirerack.com, and a lot of people are very happy with them. I think it was a great choice.
