Wastegate rattle fix
Does anyone know where I can go in toronto to get my wastegate adjusted as it rattled a lot and I've seen fixes where you just need to adjust the wastegate rods, I would totally do it my self but I don't have the tools to do this kind of work.. Thanks

Don't you lose performance with that? And with the chip do I just install and that's it or do I need a laptop in order to adjust/play with the wastegate settings?

I got mine replaced with bmws 82,000 mile warranty.
The bill was 0$ but the it woulda been around 6 or 7 grand. If it wasnt for the warranty. 2 turbos and labor is pricey |

I dont know if the warrenty is the same in canada. But id go and ask before you install the jb4.
Its not a warranty you have to purchase. Its covered under just owning a bmw Just tell them you have a real bad rattle. They will look at it and see if you have play in the actuators. If its enough then You should get two new turbos. |

no you can just install the Jb4 and adjust them all using the dash/wheel controls. The laptop is used for updating to the latest firmware and installing the BMS backend flash. If you just ran out of warranty recently and the rattle started, BMW might honor it and replace your turbos.

The only way I totally got rid of mine long ago was by using a tune and adjust the waste gate position. You'll have more power because of the tune anyway, so it's a win win Might have a bit more lag though, ie slower startup spool. I believe you still need a laptop to adjust settings, but I haven't used a piggy tune in a while. |
