Jammy Build Tread: Updated
Hi,
I've had my E92 330d M Sport (pre lci) for just over a year & now I'm happy with everything = so no more mods! I thought I'll list the retrofits I've done as it's quite a lot, so someone can ask my experience / get help etc...... What I started with: > 58 E92 M Sport > 330d (245 bhp) > Options: bluetooth, shadow line trim, non leather interior but with full memory seats & cd changer Retrofits that I didn't keep: > BMW Portable Navigation. Verdict, I liked it as it came with a custom mount & sound came through the speakers. Didn't keep as added CIC. > LCI Profession HU with BT & USB built-in. Again, removed due to CIC install. This is a great HU, you can plug in a iPod & control via steering wheel buttons, track details on the LCD screen, voice directions via smart phone (I.e google maps) through the speakers, better sound output - really a must if you haven't got idrive > BMW performance diffuser, gloss black grills, M3 style lip spoiler & gloss black wing mirrors Didn't like the look, especially the rear diffuser > Replica 313 alloys Didn't even put these on... so got a set of genuine 313s > M3 Steering wheel & paddles Plug n play. I removed cos it looked out of place Retrofits that stayed: > Auto folding wing mirrors. Because I had full electric / memory seats, it means you have wiring for auto folding mirrors. All you need is the mirrors, switch & coding > Full leather interior / heated seats. Because I have a late 2008 build it has the headrest restraints - extra connection under the seats. If you don't get the same seats, you will get the airbag warning error. Also Makkan was able to activate the heated seats & enabled the LCI climate control panel. > LCI Paddles These need to be modified to work in pre lci motor > BMW Sport pedals & LHD M Sport footrest Not the cheapest but something the M sport should have as standard > Door Tweeters These really do improve the base system & are plug n play! > Genuine 313 Alloys Common but they are far the best oem alloys for the E92 > Grey black poplar trim with leather centre & rear console (M3 style) BEFORE (nasty cubed trim) AFTER: > Full CIC retrofit with Combox. Simply the oem best retrofit you can do. There is no way you can tell this wasn't a factory fit - Makkan is like a magician! > LCI tail lights E92 & E93 are different sizes! > LED Interior bulbs Any set from eBay will do & none will give an error as there isn't a interior bulb check! > Josh's LED halo headlights FINAL mod..... & I've left the best exterior mod to last! I've read a few reviews of this & I have to agree - it has brought the car up-to-date! I absolutely love them & I highly recommend you carry out this mod! That is it.... no more oem retrofits left I want to do! I'll get a remap if a switchable one becomes available.... Anyone wanting my advice or help on these retrofits - just ask Last edited by jammy78; 06-15-2014 at 11:41 AM.. |

Indeed one of very well kept and well modified car, with OEM integration to mods.
Jammy you should have added photos of pre-mod vs post-mod to give other a better idea. Also, as Alex mentioned a full photo of your car with new headlights is MUST.

Atleast I can see the modifications before I do them on mine!
Mine will be the touring version of yours as my oem integration list is the same! Currently have heated leather, xenons, tweeters, mirrors work in progress then cic after that! Impressive to see it all done and Sam's ability to work magic! |

Sounds nice , but really need some full on snaps! What did you do with the rear? Mention you didn't like the performance diffuser and m3 lip, what did you do instead?

Leather centre console
I must admit I contacted Jammy several weeks ago to find out who wrapped his console in leather, as I decided to go down the same route. I picked mine up from Luton this morning and it looks brilliant. They had it for exactly one week. Next upgrade for me is a speaker and amp package to be fitted by audio file
On the 2nd Jan. I looked at the Alpine upgrade but decided the Audio file one was far superior. Although more expensive. I will report back in the new year on my thoughts! |

Update:
Even tho I said my car was finish...... it was a lie! I've got some more mods being installed in the next week or so! Today was...... DAB CIC! I know a lot are not impressed with DAB but I am! The signal is very good around my area & the sound is even better (so much so, I'm gonna upgrade my base system to make the most of it)! Install was simple & doesn't really need a write up, other than this: > remove diversity antenna / replace with DAB version > remove the 2 roof lining lights > run new DAB cable in the roof lining... then down the drivers front pillar = done! Hour max! Last edited by jammy78; 03-10-2014 at 06:20 AM.. |

Nice work!
DAB is just digital radio right? I've never used it before :/ Cheers for the kind words Sam! I should really step up my electrical retrofit game! If you ever come across any black headlining ready for Sun Roof, let me know pleaseeee |
