depends on the components of the coilover. Some have bodies that are made of stainless steel, some don't, etc. depending on where you live, rust may be an issue.
Most consumer grade coilovers do not require regular service. some high end dampers do require routine checking and servicing, but most people don't need anything more than basic consumer grade stuff. |

They don't require any maintenance and carry a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. The front springs will settle down after 500-2000 miles and may require a height adjustment and realignment; that's about it.

IMO inspect tracked coils every 10K or so, rebuild a high end set. For STs or V1s, I would just replace. When my STs go i'll swap them out to K2s.
