Subscribed! The more options the better as different people on here will be looking for different price points and features. I agree with you about the cost. It is a little hefty to look at the price of some of these turbo upgrades. I guess limited supply equals premium price. I did remember something from school!
Look forward to hearing more about this soon.....

Yes, it has been almost a month since these came out. Any results yet? I hate shifting at 5k, it is like an old school 454 chevy!

it still going to be shifting at 5.5k imo with this upgrade. lol The turbo isnt getting any bigger. Its just a compressor wheel upgrade. IMO we are going to be making 20 hp more max with these.

Subscribed to this too. I would like to see a version that is still "smog legal" in SoCal, meaning it will pass it as long as they don't know/see what has been done. I can't imagine the VTT or RB turbo's to be "smog legal" upgrades or am I wrong?

I am curious if the stock style DV's you have with the stiffer spring will work. The one Terry is using is definitely not like stock (blue plug and extra boost hose).

^ that's awesome! I'd be interested in that right now for my stock turbo. I'm always chasing leaks and you are probably right on the stock valve leaking at higher psi levels...

Yes, we are hoping to see the power carry further to redline. It's impressive how much peak power these cars are making even with the stock turbo. Though they do fall off hard on the top end. Our goal is to keep the power pulling longer (a better power curve). It feels much better to me, but I don't drive this car everyday. Tonight we will see what the customer who owns the car has to say about the differences. Then it goes for tuning, and back to the dyno it was baselined on, so we can see exactly what results we have.

But I think that you should know that your only possibility is a JB4. The COBB AP won't work with this car. Or do you have any local tuner tuning this beast with the byteshooter Software? Last edited by 335iFFM; 01-18-2014 at 06:30 AM.. |
