what products should i use? (link to pics inside)
I am looking to detail my car using a pc orbital , but can't decide what products to use. The car has a good amount of swirls, which you can see in the dropbox link below. I was planning on washing --> clay bar with griots garage --> polish with meguires 205 and 105--> wax. I don't have any of the products yet so I would appreciate suggestions. Thanks.

I use Meg's UC/205 but only because I needed a compound asap and O'Riley autoparts had UC in stock. I use LC orange for the UC and white for the 205.

Clay
M105 yellow or orange cutting pad Wash/IPA Menzerna SF4000 (One of the only polishes that finishes down perfect on BMW paint) white or red pad thats basic directions but m105/205 never worked as well as m105/sf4000 for me

Thanks for your input! I do like the m105/menzerna sf4000 combo. Read good things about both of them. I have been looking into poorboys ssr 1 and ssr2.5. Any thoughts on the poorboys vs the meguires or menzerna?

So I decided to go with poorboy's polish/sealent. Here is the process after washing and claybarring. SSR 2.5 --> SSR 1 --> EX-P sealent --> Natty's blue paste wax.
I am just not sure what pads/size I should be using. For the SSR 2.5 can I use an orange pad? For the SSR 1 can I use a white pad? What pads should I be using for the EX-P sealent and the blue paste wax? I will most likely be using the PC 7424. Thanks. |

I tried PC 7424 on my jet black 07 530i with Meguair's M105 and M205, but no success at all. It had heavy swirls and scratches, but the key was PC 7424 did not have enough cutting ability. Now new products such as microfiber pads will work,
Why do not use Meguair's DA microfiber correction starter kit? since you have a PC. I did use SSR 2.5 with orange pad and SSR 1 with white, but newer products would work best for PC. If you have money, Rupes will do best but since it's first time, try PC first.
