PE Exhuast Info
I am looking to buy the PE for my E92 either new or used (if I can find one locally). I need someone with experience to tell me what the install process entails. I've read somewhere that it involves cutting and/or welding...? I've installed plenty of exhausts on my previous cars so the thought of an OEM exhaust not being plug and play is odd to me. I will likely not do this one myself as I currently do not have a place to do it so any info on a good, reasonably price shop in NOVA would be appreciated.
Also, if any one is selling one please let me know other wise I will hit up Tisher |

Hi,
You pretty much can use a sawzall and cut the muffles off after you have measured the length of the piping coming out of the PE. I believe the pipe sticks out 3.25in. Once you make those two cuts, there are 4 bolts that you need to remove and then the exhaust is hanging off the hangers. That's pretty much it. It's very simple and easy and I would suggest you do it yourself. The install of the PE is just as easy as the removal. Have a friend hold the exhaust up while you clamp the exhaust to the pipe and then hang it on the hanger. Then you can bolt it in.

The stock E90/2/3 exhausts have "cut marks" for the performance exhaust to match up with, you just have to look for them.
if you don't feel confident cutting the stock system out and clamping on the PE exhaust take it to Luther and he'll do a top notch job at a fair price.

The PE is roughly $1200 from Tischer. Are there any objections on whether it's worth it or not. Speak now or forever hold your piece.

I've actually done this to mine and I love the way it sounds. I bought a used exhaust and modified it. Now I still have my stock exhaust if I want to go back to stock. Saved about $1000. Edit: Here's the link. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=739970 |

I like my N52 PE. $950 from Tischer on sale. Seems there are always people looking to buy one locally, so resale shouldn't be a problem.

Luther did my PE install and it's amazing! (Highly recommend Luther for any installs/work on any BMW in the Crofton area! He's the man!). The sound is absolutely intoxicating! Sounds amazing and is by far the best no frills mod I've done on any of my 335's. Check out Luther for prices on this too! He sourced it for me for less than anywhere I've ever seen!!!
