Arktis_Conviction's e90 Build Thread (Arctic Metallic 2006 330i)

What's up guys. I recently purchased a 6-mt Arctic Metallic 2006 330i. The car has the ACS kit installed. I immediately became interested in modding, adding M-sport pedals, aluminum window-control trim, and blacking out my window trim. Not much, but I hope to continue my build with the following:

Future Mods:
- M3 rep side skirts (in the mail)
- Side skirt extensions (waiting for install)
- Tinted side markers

I will update this post as I continue my build. As always, please don't hesitate to give me your honest input; I'm looking forward to becoming an active member among the e90post community

Mods:
Exterior:
- Arctic Metallic Paint
- AC Schnitzer front lip
- AC Schnitzer side skirt extensions
- AC Schnitzer rear bumper
- AC Schnitzer roof spoiler (For sale, currently off the car)
- AC Schnitzer III Replica 18" wheels (FOR SALE)
- Blacklines
- Black carbon fiber roundels
- Gloss black grills
- LSB-painted AVT Innovations Scoops
- Front tow hook license plate mount
- Debadged 330i model identifier
- Xenons
- Tinted headlight ambers
- Mtech rear deck lid spoiler (FOR SALE)
- Matte black window trim

Interior:
- Black Dakota leather
- M-sport pedals
- Suede trim wrap
- Suede shift and e-brake boot with M tri-color stitching. DIY here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...5#post18200305
- Blue starter button surround (previously orange)
- Clutch Stop (Review below)
- Custom Cue ball shift knob (156 grams)
- ACS steering wheel roundel
- White LED interior lighting system
- Aluminum window control bezels

Welcome and congrats on your E90! The mods that you've got planned sound great but honestly the current ACS parts that came with your car don't look that nice IMO. Nonetheless thanks for sharing and keep us posted

When I first saw the car, I loved the ACS kit, but that feeling faded shortly after my purchase. However, only 2 weeks later and I'm starting to like it again So I'm sort of on the fence about swapping for M-tech's. I don't think LM reps go well with the ACS kit, but I think the Varrstoen ES6' go better. So honestly, it might depend on my wheels selection. As always, I'll keep you guys posted!

Haha thank you. But just so I don't disappoint, I have to let you guys know that the modding will take me some time. I'm still attending university and as much as I love the car, school comes first. So once the year starts, most of my updates will be put on hold

understandable, I'm in college as well so money is always an issue when it comes to modding

Does anyone have any experience with vinyling or taking apart the interior trim? I'm wondering if I could just cover the wood trim without removing panels. I don't really feel comfortable removing the dash trim, even with the instructional videos :/

I sold the benz because I didn't feel the maintenance costs were worth it. Roughly $2k every time I took it into the stealership.

eBay Clutch Stop Review (PickyEater334)

Small things really do come in small packages. Although there're lots of reviews on this clutch stop, I figure I add another small one just to show my support for this nifty little tool. I just want to start off by saying I'm a very stingy person. So for me to be truly satisfied with a purchase really means something . Anyways, I ordered my clutch stop on eBay from PickyEater334 (the seller who made the original e90 clutch stop). I ordered it on Sunday night and received it Wednesday morning; considering it was sent from California to NJ, that's pretty quick; tracking was even included with the free shipping. Pickyeater was also very pleasant to deal with and answered my questions immediately.

Anyways, installing the clutch stop was SO easy. Literally took me 45 seconds. Just pop out the old one and install the new. One thing to be careful with is while uninstalling the OEM one, make sure to have a good grip on it. I dropped mine under the insides of the footwell, and only God must know where it is now...hopefully this clutch stop is durable!

On to the driving aspect of the clutch stop: as soon as I popped it in, I went for a quick test drive. I immediately felt the difference when putting the car into reverse. The clutch now immediately grabs the gear. I've only been driving stick shift for a month now, and under quick shifts the car would always jerk and bump around until I found the engagement point. Now, as soon as I let go of the clutch, it grabs the gear. Going into second is buttery smooth now

I definitely recommend anyone with a 6-speed to purchase a clutch stop, if there's anyone even left who hasn't yet!

Gorgeous car. I really think that is one of BMW's best colors ever.

Did you ever do anything with the trim? Lots of DIYs out there. I did one: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1024270

Thank you, I really appreciate the DIY. I actually haven't wrapped he trim yet because I haven't had much spare time. But I plan on doing the interior trim and painting my brake calipers once I get back home

Thank you I think it's a great purchase. IMO it's the best mod for under $50. Let me know if you want me to PM the pickyeater's (the original seller, he's here on e90post as well) link.

That's a great looking 330 you have. In the last picture, what is that front bumper? Looks good, but I can only see it in a bit of an awkward angle.
