Almost in SC. Getting a hotel and will finish my journey to FL tomorrow.

Love bugs are a bug that comes out for two weeks in September and May. They swarm and make more love bugs. They're about the size of a fly, black, and fly around like they're stupid. When driving if you hit a love bug area they sound like rain on your windshield. When they splat they leave their black carcass and white guts on your car. The guts are acidic and will eat into your car paint in a day or two so you have to was them off ASAP. They have windshield cleaning stations at every stop on the turnpike because they get so bad you can see through the windshield after half an hour of driving. Good news is they're only around a couple weeks a couple times a year. They're here now around an hour south of Orlando on the turnpike. If you're lucky they won't be awake on you're route to Tampa. It's florida's gypsy moth.

Just spent 30 minutes washing the rest of them off after I did a car wash that had a guy scrub the front for 3 min before going through. They suck.

Yes, quite a few! BUT I covered my front end with blue painters tape so nothing affected my paint. Quite happy I did that. Still need to wash the car because my windshield is horrible lol
