E90 people doing the wide wheel/tire thing
I know there are many similar threads, but there are so many threads filled with nonsense and arguments everywhere that it's somewhat difficult to find an answer.
Plans are to grab some new kicks over the winter for the car. Looking to go aggressive as possible, perhaps a little more than possible, we'll see. I prefer those to chime in who have had actual experience before this turns into a mess. A. I want to run at least a 10in. wide rear, and 9in. up front (would go with 8.5 if I had no choice with the wheel). This is a 335i as well. 1. Offsets. Under what, will be too low of an offset? I'm guessing no lower than 20? What would be the lowest I can go in the front with a 9 and 10 rear? 2. Widest front I think I've seen so far is 265 with minimal rubbing. I won't go beyond 255 though. As far as rear goes, I've read but have not seen, some people say 295's will fit in the back (this would be my target for the rear) Now, where does the line sit when you put XXX wide tire on front and rear, that will require adjustable camber links (rolling the fender considered)? 3. Car is not lowered, but on sport suspension, so I guess it's technically somewhat lowered. I'm holding off on suspension (going lower) until after the wheels are on because I'm assuming I could pull off some wider fitment. em. Had a couple more questions but can't remember that at the moment. |

easy, et30 front with 255 or 265 tires.
rear on the non LCI cars can go up to 285 with no rub. LCI car has 5mm less clearance each side.

We have the same car, and here's what I came out with my research as to the largest wheels that would fit flush with the fenders and not rub. The reason I'm not trying anything larger than 275 in the rear is more of a diameter-difference issue.
Front: 9x19 et35 (sticks out 12mm more than stock. 14mm less inner clearance) -255/30-19: 0.284% smaller diameter Rear: 9.5x19 et33 (sticks out 17mm more than stock. 9mm less inner clearance) -275/30-19: 1.838% larger diameter

If you want the widest tire possible go as wide as possible on the wheels without having them stick out.
I would do something like 9"et30-35 255/35/19 10.5et37-42 295/30/19 |

I don't mind the wheels having a little poke, it's actually more of what I'm expecting. However I don't want a lot of stretch to the tire, I can deal with a tiny bit, but I want to keep it to a minimum as possible; that stretch look just isn't for me, although I have seen some sick setups, I still want function>form.

It is taller than stock but that doesn't mean it is too tall. It's only .2" taller than what I have now. You could use 255/30/19 and 295/25/19 which is pretty much a perfect match for the stock sizes. I just prefer taller tires for ground clearance and to make the speedometer more accurate.

I compromised between form and function I used the widest tire possible for the amount of poke I have. The front is a very tight fit a little more than I would recommend. My specs are 9.5et22 245/35/19 11et28 275/30/19 |

Mind posting a pic or two if your^ setup?
Another reason I hope to stick with a low offset, is to get the larger lip or concave. So 255 for the front and 285 for the rear seem to be the widest I'll be able to go with minor suspension mods? But offset can also affect my tire width choices correct? Another question, will sticking to an 18in wheel give me a little more room to play with, or will it work out about the same whether 18 or 19? |

My rear wheel is 11"et33 plus a 5mm spacer which puts me at et28. If I took out the spacer I could fit a 285. Without the spacer I still had some clearance on the inside not much but you could go a few mm higher on the offset. For the front if you have camber plates you could fit a 255 on a 9.5" wheel with the right offsets et26-30. Without camber plates I'd stick with the 9". I posted some pictures here and there is a link with more. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...784183&page=10 |

I'm in the same boat as the OP. Instead of creating a new thread for the same thing, I'll consolidate and ask it here.
I plan to run either a 235/45-17 F and 265/40-17 R, or 235/40-18 F and 265/35-18 R. I may go ahead and get some 18's, but what offset and width should I use? I don't believe the stock non-sport 17's (I think they're style 286's) won't run a 265 wide tire. I had my car dropped to where the fender was flush with the tread, but I raised it back up because NY can't maintain their roads. My goal is to increase traction, and reduce my turn-induced oversteer. Should I go with 245 F and 275 R instead? I get tires at manufacture's price so that isn't a worry. I am a complete dunce when it comes to wheels. My car is an LCI E90. Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, I had a 335i sport that I was running Linea Corsa L888 m3 fitment. 9x19 in front, 9x10.5 in rear with a 25 offset all around. Fitment was awesome, sat flush with no spacers. Tires were 245/35 and 285/30 and with minor rolling of the rear fenders, I had no rubbing what so ever. This setup is actually for sale if anyone is interested, pics posted.
