2007 335i no boost, no CEL.
Not sure if this is the right place or not, so sorry if it's not.
I have a 2007 335i. I installed a jb4 several months ago and everything was great. There was one time when making a pull that the half engine light came on but everything still ran fine. After that the light went away and it wouldn't make full boost. I pulled the jb4 as I am thinking about selling the car. So now it is obvious there is no boost at all and no CEL or codes come up. I'm a bit new to the 335 world so I'm not sure what to be looking for. Any help is much appreciated. |

FWIW i had a very similar issue.. CEL one time when WOT in 4th.. but generally no light, and no/low boost. Poked around a bit, found bad vacuum lines to be the culprit. I spent a day replacing all of them, problem solved. If you haven't replaced them yet I'd at least inspect, and if you're higher mileage, definitely replace them as a first step.. it's a super cheap fix.

I would check all of your pipes from the intercooler to the CP to the throttle body. Afterwards, I'd look at all the vacuum lines.

cool, thanks for the responses, The charge pipes seem to look fine as that's what I initially though, I will have to look further into the vacuum lines, the visible ones are fine but need to look at the rest of them.
I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something obvious I was missing. I miss boost. |

Just ordered some replacement hoses as nobody in town had the correct size, keeping my fingers crossed.
Should I have any concern of turbo failure or anything? Pretty sure I am just worrying myself at this point. |

Don't worry, take one step at a time, check/replace your vacuum lines first since they cost the least.

Yeah, I had read through that before.
I ordered and replaced all the hose, one to rear wastegate looked damaged but not sure if that happened during removal or not. Anyways, went for a run and the car has plenty of power, unfortunately its plenty of N/A power. No action from the turbo whatsoever. Still no CEL as well. Whats next? |
