you can blank the egr valve or there are a number of egr kits, I brought mine off ebay £40 in stainless steel and very well made and a direct fit, here's my egr [URL=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/parsonsnose/media/PICT0620_zpsdd898b0c.jpg.html][/URL I changed the swirl flaps for some low mileage ones at the same time using tiger seal or a good silicone sealant, this was 18 months ago with no leaks up to now so problem solved, just my opinion but I'm not a fan of blanks as the swirl flaps are there and developed for a reason, I've never heard of any failures with the later cartridge type but everyone to their own. |

As much as I respect the opinions of other but I would hate to say that all swirl flaps are prone to fail.
Mine were later catridge type and I am glad that I changed them. And in all honesty, I saw gain on higher revs! And car felt smoother. I would recommend to change swirl flaps as why risking your engine?

Im also of the opinion that they were developed for a reason Same with the egr, i have retained it but methodically clean it out Its a 320d (mine) not an f1 car |

I had mine blanked and very glad I don't have to worry. Yes they were developed for a reason but there must also be a reason that they don't use them anymore. An experiment gone wrong in my eyes!!
