number plate question

Hi guys, need your advice here. Have noticed a black E92 LCI with two guys in it lurking on my street for some time, driving slowly. I managed to notice their number plate today.
I put the plate into the eurocarparts website just out of curiosity. To my little suprise it is coming up as a Kia Venga 1.4 2011 year
Is this normal? The car has been spotted first time a couple of months ago, when someone unsuccessfully tried to steal my pride.
Advice will be appreciated.

It clearly isn't normal or there wouldn't be much point in having a number checker, but it can happen if it's a custom registration, if not and you're worried report it to the police!

There's pretty much no way you can guarantee it's not a private plate.

thats true, but this plate is completely nrl, no hidden words or anything. Two letters, two numbers, three letters. In a unlikely scenario where this could be a private plate there will be no harm to the owner. They will just check if it is by their records and if it is a false alarm, nothing will happen. The owner wont even know.
If it true though, someone might be sparred the crap I went trough when someone tried to nick my car.

Most of the time these gangs use a different number plate from bmw cars with similar colour.
Its very unusual if they are using Kia's plate. If you are sure, report them!

why don't you phone KIA and get a price for anything with the number plate you spotted and see what they say. If the number plate is recognised by KIA and you see the car again...an educated guess 101 didn't bother doing anything about your info. So just report it to your local police station and tell them someone is trying to steal your car.
