I'm getting a ton of PMs about the turbos, S&H Performance, the guys who built the turbos updated their website, they have an email address for specs and pricing.

NC thanks for the link. I think I know the answer, but can you run the turbos without having to remove the DPF if you live in a state like CA where the emissions testing is totally nuts.

I don't see why not. I think the key thing would be to get the DME tuned to take full advantage of the hybrid turbos whilst keeping your emissions systems intact. I highly recommend you purchase a 2nd DME and have it cloned to your car. That way you would just have to swap them out when you take the car in for inspection and can utilize preventative CBU measures like the EGR block off plates which can be coded out in the 2nd "tuned" DME.

You should be able to pick up a used DME for about $400-$500. I am currently utilizing 2 DME's, one for street and one for full blown track use which is pushing higher boost levels resulting in more power.

Hope this helps.

Damn if I ever need a new transmission I know who to talk to on getting a good deal. Most places I've talked to want $1k for dime a dozen transmissions.

NC, I went for a quick test spin in your car yesterday at BPC. It makes my JBD 335D feel like a Cub Cadet. I'm moving to Raleigh from Va., and looking forward to starting down the mod path with Dan, since he'll probably also do some work on my turbo E36 M3's.

My 335D is Tasman green, so the soot will be a little easier to conceal, but your continued experimenting with the meth and tune a bit more may clean up the exhaust some. Probably improve your MPG too. Great looking ride, and everything you've done looks and feels great.

Want to join us turbo guys at a private track rental at Maryland International Raceway on 9/18? I'll lend you a new set of 275/40/17 ET Street drag radials to see what that puppy can do on the big black dyno. Mine won't trap much over 105 MPH as it sits, but it'll run those traps all day long. PM me if interested in the 1/4 mile gig, and congrats on the car.

Thanks Smokie. I think you will be pleased with Dan and his guys at BPC. I appreciate the invite, but unfortunately my wife has taken the liberty of scheduling obligations for me through to the end of October. Give me a shout when you come to Raleigh, there are a few of us BMW diesel owners in the area. Maybe we can all get together.

It's on Friday, 9/18. If you want to PM me, I can send you contact info for Ahmad, who organizes these events. Or you can just wait a few more days to check on the weather. You can pay at the gate, so you don't have any issues if you need to cancel for weather issues. The event is cross-posted on multiple forums like 6 speed on line, but here's a link to the thread on another forum:

http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...Rental-9-18-15

MIR does a great job prepping the track with VHT. They'll have full medical and track support on standby, but I've never seen an awful accident at these events. The range of vehicles is astounding. Everything from 15 second sedans to 8 second muscle cars. It's a mix of BMW's, Benzes, Audis, and modified domestics. You can line up against whichever car you wish.

The low volume of cars- often under 30- lets you run dozens of times if you want, even hot lapping if you think your car can handle it. Some of the serious street racing BMW's might be there from MD and NJ. Lots of good technical knowledge available from these guys.

I'll be there in my gray/green 335D, or if I can dust them off in time, either an estoril turbo M3 sedan, or a black turbo M3 sedan. Hope you can make it!

Yep. Still $100 a car. Depending on which year, I would have been in one of the M3's, or a Hertz rental car- red CTS-V one time and black C6 Vette the next. As good a use for reward points as any, without the burden of new $2,500 sets of Pilot Sport Cups.

You can search for salvage yards that have 335d's in their inventory and contact them directly. This method will probably cheaper than eBay. Good luck!!

Just stumbled upon this thread. If you're in Raleigh we should meet up sometime. I'm in Chapel Hill and would love to see your ride!

BPC is a great place! I know one of the guys who works there with a red ZHP and they are a great group of guys.

Hokie_BMW, sounds good.

So, just wanted to give you guys an update on the car. I have put about 1,500 miles on since the hybrid turbos and meth kit were installed and the car is running FANTASTIC.

The smoke/soot has been significantly reduced and is evident from the lack of soot buildup on my rear bumper (white). I have to fight the urge to "get on" the skinny pedal overtime I crank her up.

Fuel efficiency has also improved since the installation of the hybrid turbos. I commute 120 miles to work on a daily basis consisting of 70% highway and 30 city driving at an avg. speed of 69 m.p.h. and yield an average of 38.2 m.p.g. Whereas before I was yielding an average of 34.6 m.p.g..

Now, the only question that remains is, how do I get more POWER????
