Is Walnut Blasting as important on non-turbo N52 as the N54??

I know the Turbo direct injection N54 engine builds up a fair amount of crud... I'm sure same crud builds up a bit on the N52 (my car is the 2006 330i) but is it to the same levels and needs??

The N52 engine in E90 BMWs is port injection, so our valves are "cleaned" off with each injection of gasoline. However, eventually any valve will probably get some carbon build-up especially with variable timing and sub-optimal conditions as the engine ages. It just happens a lot faster with direct injection since the fuel isn't sprayed on the back. I wouldn't imagine it being much of a concern for our N52s though.

No need to walnut blast a port injection engine. The fuel cleans the valves, I'd bet they're near spotless.

As said above, not necessary on the NA engines!

This was what the intake ports on my 330i looked like when I replaced the DISA actuators and the intake was off:

Your engine must surely be port injected. If it was DI, then it would be much worse (even if NA)...
