LED Lights

Hi,

I have an E90 328XI 2007 BMW.

I'm looking to upgrade my headlights to LEDs.

Any suggestions for LED lights for fogs and headlights?

Thanks!

Spec-D has pretty cool LED headlights. They are available in different styles and color options. They’ll make your ride stand out and get noticed, and the increased visibility will make it more conspicuous.

What exactly are you looking to upgrade and what headlights do you have on the car already?

If you have halogen headlights then i highly recommend you stock with a halogen bulb in there. Some company sell " LED Headlight Bulbs" however they are illegal and dangerous to use. Fog lights do not have the same restrictions as headlights however

If you have xenon headlights on the car there are a number of LED Angel eye replacements avaialble for you. I would recommend going to the Vendor section of the forum and look up products there. There are a lot of reviews about the products, companies, etc over there.

LED low beam replacement bulbs are all very bad in terms of light output.

LED headlight bulbs are not illegal they never were, in addition to LED fog light bulbs, both are perfectly legal, HID headlight bulbs for the halogen projectors are and HID fog light kits also are illegal however, this is due to the binding effect towards oncoming traffic, same goes to LED angel eyes, perfectly legal since late 2006, the start of the first E92 models

I'm sorry Derrick but you are wrong about this. It is illegal to use anything other than a SAE and DOT approved in the headlights for projection lighting. The beam patterns they are create are not the same making it dangerous for both the driver of the car, oncoming traffic and also pedestrians around this car. These type of headlights replacement bulbs should be banned from sale not only on this website but on any website for safety reasons alone.

I upgraded my headlights to LED bulbs a few months ago and they are 3 times brighter than the stock ones. Amazon and eBay are selling millions of them now on their websites now!

Your telling me that in tha US, you can change out a DOT approved, tested and certified lighting solution for something someone has soldered together in a barn somewhere? Or a cheapo xenon kit from china is perfectly acceptable in any reflector housing?

Wow.. In the EU, your not even allowed to retrofit OEM xenon headlights to a halogen car unless you get both the autolevel and headlight washer system installed and then you STILL need BMW to give you a certification paper to send in to the local DMV.

That's annoying I'm sure
In the US nobody cares about lights (unless its flashing color) especially in the Midwest or Southern regions. I had blue DTR lights in my last 335i and never got pulled over.

Yeah a lot people change out the fog lights to different colors or non projector style HIDs. It's super bright and very annoying, that's why most members don't recommend doing that!

it is 100% illegal to do this in the USA but yet most people will get away with doing it however. HID or LED headlights replacements are not legal in the USA with any current production product. They need to be approved in order to be legal.
