Questions on buying via internet/email
I need to test drive a couple of cars to decide if I want the SP or not. I also need to see the exterior/interior colors up in person to make my final decisions there. Did most of you know what you wanted already, or did you go in after contacting the dealers for test drives?
Also, did you just use the contact emails from the dealerships' websites? If so, is there a certain position that I should be looking for? Thanks - I really want to bypass having to deal with a floor salesman. |

You need to look for the internet sales manager either through email listing or simply by calling up the dealership and asking for him/her directly. This person deals strictly on volume.
In my case I pretty much had in my mind what I wanted and made that one call to a referred contact which immediately netted me a price of $500 over invoice. Keep in mind, when you are ordering, you'd have some leeway in reconfiguring your order (color, options, trim) right until before your slot reaches 150 (production) status. I am sure that posters here would attest to themselves barraging their respective CAs with order detail changes right until the last possible minute.

edmunds.com or cardirect.com. you can send out referral emails via their site. you don't even have to meet or talk to the internet sales guy before you pick up the car. i'll never buy a car from a floor salesman again.
