license plate light bulb comparisons between stock, 3 led and 21 led

Hey I just got a video done comparing these bulbs, hopefully it can help if someone is looking to swap out their bulbs and not sure which way to go.

That 24 led thing looks way too powerful to be safe. It is much brighter than the rear lights, probably as brigth as a brake or fog light, possibly blinding for drivers following you at night.

The 3 led looks like it has the right amount of light.

I have a similarly designed 6 led chip. I have found that same issue with the led bulb rotating in the housing. It is easy to fix by simply affixing some rubber furniture stick-on felt on the housing so that the bulb cannot turn anymore. The amount of light, and the color are right, the price was also very right ($3 for 2 bulbs on amazon).

This is one of those mods that I don't understand. What is the benefit of making your license plate lights brighter? Making it easier for cops and red light cameras to see it?

Obviously use your own judgement on how bright you want it, that's why I made the video I wish it was about half way in between the two. That said there is no way these would blind anyone. The angles I was shooting at were much lower and closer then any one following you would ever be. Driving behind the car it looks bright but not unusually so. The normal person probably wouldn't notice.

I personally did it to get rid of the yellowish tint of the stock bulbs not for more light. IMHO Cops are going to be able to see your license plate either way, they don't seem to bother me much the older I get. Car seats in the back probably don't hurt either lol

I have the 24 bulb one. $15, no error codes and though bright it isn't blinding. Much nicer than the dull yellow OEM lights.
