REVIEW: E92 Depo Euro Spec LCI Taillights
Hello, this will be a review based on the Depo LCI taillights with amber blinkers that came with the retrofitted wiring harness to allow the unit to be plug and play. If you're thinking of doing this as well, I would suggest you get onto it! It is definitely worth the money, and it makes the rear end of the car look 100% better and nicer than the Pre-LCI version. Also, the Euro spec amber blinker gives it a more unique look than the standard North American red blinkers .
Let's start off where I got the taillights from. I ordered the Depo LCI kit through UniqueStyleRacing (USR) and they are absolutely helpful. Lee, from USR, was the person I exchanged emails with regarding questions I had about these taillights. I can definitely say he is a very genuine person, and answered all the concerns and questions I had professionally. The transaction was very smooth, and it was shipped to my door within about 3 business days. Considering that I am in Canada, I did not expect the package to arrive that early. Kudos to that! When the box arrived to my door, it was packaged nicely. The styrofoam covered everything, and it was cushioned from any possible damages from the moving shipment. On top of that, there was a fragile sticker on top the box to warn the handlers to be careful! After unboxing the boxes inside, I must say I was very impressed with the taillights. I inspected and compared them to my friend's North American LCI taillights, and they look identical. These do not come with the pink overlay that covers the blinkers like the NA version. Therefore, giving it a Euro spec look. The harness was attached to the lights and it was simply easy to plug them into the stock car harness. These taillights are beautiful and I had to compare them to the outdated Pre-LCI ones .One thing I wish was for the harness to be built in within the taillights, but that was okay. I installed the taillights and attached the harnesses around the screw, and tighten the nut so the harness could stay in place. After installation, I was very happy with the outcome. I took a side by side picture of the two, and it definitely makes the Pre-LCI taillights look like garbage . It adds better lines to the car, and makes the rear end look more aggressive in my opinion. I installed these early morning and they look super bright from behind. Well worth the money. It has been a few days after installing them, I can definitely say they will be very reliable. The way its built and designed was not half assed. Yet, I am thinking they will last a long time down the road just as if it was like the OEM North American LCI version. Things to keep mindful of: Keep in mind, coding needs to be done after installing these. Just make sure you turn the hot and cold bulb checks off. Make sure install them with care and not over tighten the nuts or else you can break the screws off that holds the taillights in place. Be sure and double check that the harness wires are not squeezed or stuck. Clamping the wires where it gets stuck may cause the wires to get damage over time. Enjoy!! |

You should also do a water leak test... There is a foam gasket/seal around the middle of the tail light and could cause water to leak into the battery or amp... which is what happened to me. Tech said it was because the gasket was compressed for so long it didn't decompress when I removed the tail lights, so when I reintalled it there was a slight gap. Not a cheap part to replace btw

That is what I noticed when I looked at the photos through my phone. I guess its my phone adjusting to the bright lights in the dark just as if you were to take a picture of your light in your bedroom. In person, they are exactly like the red OEMs.

Do you need to code those tail lights? Or they just plug and play?
Thanks |

I really like my lights especially with the amber turn signals. Nice way to freshen up the look of the car.
