January '08 Production Thread
Since I know alot of us ordered in December, I'm sure the BMWNA 800# has been pretty busy lately with "Vehicle Production Status" requests.
So I thought I'd start a thread for everyone to vent and give updates on their orders. For me: 12/17 ordered 328xi 1/4 scheduled for production 1/7 received VIN, in production, scheduled to be completed 1/14 1/8 Rep at 800# said car won't actually go into production until 1/10 or 1/11 Still checking the 800# daily hoping to get a status on body, paint, etc. Live west of Boston. Praying to take delivery by Valentine's Day. We'll see. What about everyone else? -TJW |

I have a 335xi E90 going into production next week but in Canada we get no updates at all unless I call my CA.
I am still wainting for a VIN. Sucks. |

Thats it, if my car doesn't have a production date come Monday I am calling my dealer and saying. "Find a car that you have that is about to go into production and change its order to mine". I am not going to take this crap anymore. I let my dealer try to talk his way out of why its taking so long but not anymore. No more excuses.

I called the 800 number this afternoon, and it's still not scheduled. WTF? I ordered on 12/29. If it's going to be here in 6 weeks like they said, they better get cracking! |

Ordered 335i coupe on 12/11/2007
My 335i coupe has finished production as of 01/08/2008 and is awaiting transport, whatever that means... I guess it is sitting at the dock waiting on a ship bound for Charleston, South Carolina.. Hope it gets here before March!!!

My vert also completed production on 1/8 and as of a few minutes ago has been "released to a carrier and awaiting transportation to a port of exit". When I talked to a live person, I was told that it should be on a ship "within 5 days at the most".

Mine is Crimson Red w/gray leather and Poplar (unusual combo, I know). It comes with Step, CA, Park Distance, Sirius and Ipod. I don't think we'll be on the same ship, though, 'cause I live in Cali. |

I would think they could just swap out what each car would be made like. You can change the order up until production. It's seriously insane how long this is taking when people who ordered after us already have their cars waiting for transport.

No call for me...
...however my OC was updated yesterday with VIN and is now scheduled for production. Considering the lag, it most likely entered production on the 10th. Perhaps delivery by Valentine's Day is possible after all!

Went into production on 1/8/08... In the body shop today with an estimated completion on 1/14/08... Hoping it ships next week... Anyone know the port it leaves from and how we can check to see what ships have a departure next week? Awaiting 335i e90 AW (Misery loves company) |
