Anyone Else in Montana?
I searched a bit, and I did not find one post that suggested that there are any E90Posters here in Montana, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I'm in Bozeman specifically, and I'm hoping I might hear from someone around here about good repair shops and other local resources. There aren't many BMWs on the roads around (closest dealer is about 200 miles away which I suppose is a pretty big deterrent), but I do see a few. Maybe one of them is quietly lurking on here?
It's a little daunting having an E90 so far from the resources of a big city (I have only found one local shop that appears to be capable of, or interested in diagnosing and repairing this car, and although I like to mess around a bit, I am not a competent shade tree mechanic), but there is no question that this is where you want to come if you want to stretch your BMW's legs. Beautiful mountain roads all around, and long strait stretches of interstate with a generous speed limit (perhaps soon to be even higher, although gone are the halcyon days of "reasonable and prudent" speed limits). In any event, I suppose this my new regional forum (formerly in New England), so, hello from Montana. |

Hey man I'm from Montana as well! I live in Helena. I've owned my 335 for a little over a year and a half. Done some work myself and had help from a few local friends who are mechanics for the more difficult stuff. Hope you enjoy the forums I've been a lurker for 2 years now haha.
What model BMW do you have? |

Nice to see a reply from another Montanan. To be honest, I figured my post would just quietly slip into the dark recesses of the internet. I've got a '10 E90 335i. Mostly stock, with BMW Performance exhaust, and the BMW Performance tune (modest bump in HP and torque). Other than a few cosmetic tweaks like tint, it's as I bought it.
With all the warm weather we've been having it's been nice to take it off the trickle charge and flog it a bit. I bet you've got some great roads up in in the Helena area just as we do down here. I've got a few trips planned for this summer, the first being a loop over the Beartooth hwy, and then back through the park and paradise valley. What's your favorite loop? |

I've been waiting to see another Montanan for a while haha. Nice car you got there. Love he LCI sedans. I have an alpine white '08 e92 335xi with most upgrades done minus the fmic(already on the spring list). Lowered on kW v1s etc etc.
There's a nice little loop to Lincoln with some very nice curvey roads. You should road trip this way sometime and I can show you! My friends and I come through Bozeman often for car meets and such. I also sent you a pm earlier too, but if you need help with mods or if you are in the area let me know. Thanks for posting! |

Nice! Good to see haha. I thought I was all alone for a while. I was also not sure which location thread to be apart of. We're like between Rockies and northwest!

roadtrip: What a great winter to have bought a convertible in MT! Looks like it's in great shape shape cosmetically, especially for a car going on 8 years old. I think the styling on E9X's is aging really well.
Enjoy it. |

Hello! I just found this site. I'm in Billings and just ordered my JB4, DCIs, and 3" catless downpipes. I have a 2007 335xi and am looking to learn how to work on it myself. I just tried to replace the headlight bulbs but theyou just happen to be the ones you can't access, lol.
Anyone interested in helping a level 1 noon become one of the best beamer mechs around? Thanks guys Drew |
