Ebay Angel Eyes
Any of you try these "120W" angel eyes?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/CREE-LED-Lig...NWaVPz&vxp=mtr Feel like that many bulbs will give off too much heat and that its too long to fit in the housing? Also have any of you tried the typical 40W ebay ones? http://www.ebay.com/itm/40W-BMW-H8-W...9UHGcX&vxp=mtr Yes, I did search if anyone else did buy those angel eyes and no I am not buying LUX or anything more that $60. |

Haven't tried the Ebay ones but we did just install these in my son's E92 and they are very nice and were plug and play. Most of the Ebay stuff comes from these places anyway so you can just remove the middle man. We got them shipped to us within 10 days or so too.

Heat is a concern.
That's why the HPB lights we offer have a fan. They run SIGNIFICANTLY cooler then other offerings of the same output. There is also improvements in efficiency with todays LED compared to ones a few years old. The biggest killer of LED's is heat and heat also kills output. So as these LED's heat up, output diminishes. It's understandable you are on a budget but the lights you are buying are old fashion LED technology, which is why they are priced so cheap. They came out 3-4 years ago. As a result, output will not be that great and you will likely be disappointed that you can't see them very well during the day. I could understand not wanting to spend too much but keep in mind you are buying old inventory from a company that has had those lights on their shelf for several years now. Consider looking in the vendor section. The HPB angel eyes are very popular and at half the price of other options with similar output, it's a no brainer. I have them on my personal car too. |

The HPB angel eyes when they were first released were selling for well over $150, so the price has come down significantly to cope with competing offerings and knock off sellers on ebay/amazon. As I mentioned previously, the items you specified earlier are old and outdated technology that won't perform well in the day light. We stopped selling similar offerings years ago. They will at least look better then stock but you won't be able to see them as much in the day time. I'd just hate to see you buy something and be disapointed to only need to return it and buy something else. Then you've wasted shipping costs and hours of your time to save $20. |

In order to have a good product you need 3 things: High quality LED's, Good electronics that control the amount of power to the LED's, and correct heat handling of the unit. The first products you link here have adequate LED's ( but there are much newer and better ones available), horrible power supplies that are cheaply made, not fused, and most likely create EMI, and the heat sink is adequate because of the bad electronics. |

Although, I strongly believe that you get what you pay for and should never cheap out on parts for your BMW, especially lights since our cars are very sensitive, if you want to save yourself the headache of having the common "lights shuts off after a couple of minutes" problem, I would just spend a couple bucks more on a nice quality pair, with that said I'm not saying spend $150 on bulbs, but do your own research. See what other member have bought and how happy they are with it, don't settle for only those 2 options when you have a full market available to you.

I purchased a great upgrade angel eyes set myself for $43.00. They are bright, and they are the perfect color temperature (6000K). They run very cool also. CREE/Samsung LED product. They are fused AND error free. High quality 12awg silicone wiring also. Water proof connectors.
A TRUE 40W per side. (Don't let vendors tell you 40W isn't enough) A true 40W is PLENTY bright enough. If you saw them on my car, you would think I paid $159-200.00 for them..... PM me for pictures, and more info.... |

I have had and sold 5 10 20 40 60 and 80W of our HPB line up for several years now. There is a difference. Luckily the HPB options are half or more then other brands so the cost is easily swallowed in comparison to other options. But my point is there is a difference, although the 40W are good enough for most. I still prefer my 80W on my car having both as an option. |

It would be interesting to compare no doubt. However, I really couldn't see how doubling the wattage would even be feasible to look at comfortably. My 40W units are purely visible even during a well sun lit day.
