So as i said. Update the egs module but it seems like you need the software from v49<
Funny thing I updated all my modules now and when i did the dcs it updated ok. But loads of errors were up. Idrive stated tht dtc has failed abs has failed!!!! I was sh**tin it!!!!! Tried clearing with inpa but they wont go. So i tried dis57. After reading the codes it asked if i programed the dsc module then prompted me to re-colabrilate "pressure settings" then presto!!! All sorted. But that really threw me!!! Just a reminder to be carful!!! |

Guys,can you help - i followed everything,my car is 330xi 2006,bought push/pull M steering wheel,but it works only the upshift.
My slipring cable had already oins 2 & 4 with yellow wires ,so i cut them and from there 2 cables to the gear selector, but it doesn downshift,i tested it in the garage not in motion, shifts up perfectly, but no downshift Also,is there a possibility to use the paddles in D and how,i can use them in DS only. |

I very seldom bother with the paddles because they're only ever in the correct position to use if your driving on a straight road, if you turn the wheel more than 90° you suddenly find the paddles are in the wrong position to change gear again, they're a novelty that quickly wears off |

Hi guys
I am a complete BMW newbie having just bought a 2007 335i Cabrio Auto. My car has an M-steering wheel with the old-style gear shift paddles. I know that the M3 style DCT paddles can be retrofitted but the question is, how simple is it? Is it just a matter of buying the DCT paddles off the internet and then getting someone at a BMW dealership to fit them? Is there anything else that is required? Many thanks. D. |

Battery disconnect. Drink tea (to allow time for the airbag voltage to deplete) Remove airbag (you may need to pop some small holes in the wheel fabric to release the bag - just pop an Allen or Torx key in the depressions that you'll find by touching the front of the wheel. The key will trigger the spring clip to release the bag. Unscrew the paddles. Unplug paddles. Reverse the procedure to fit the new ones - the airbag just pushes back on to the clips. That's how mine worked anyway! No need to get a BMW dealer involved - they probably wouldn't know how to do it! Or say that it's not possible. Mike |

Yes.
Having had both early ear and later paddle types, I prefer the earlier ear type with up/down on the same one, then you can change gear almost without thinking, even if you have a handful (or more) of lock on. Paddle type do look nicer though. Mike |

It is as easy as described above. You don't even need to unplug the airbag. The wire is long enough to move it out of the way so you can access the paddles. The M3 ones look/feel a lot nicer

Hi,
Looking for someone able to do the coding to enable paddle shifting in D- mode in North West. My car is Jan 2007, and I can change the gears with paddles in DS only. |

Note for anyone doing this mod. Where ever you read that it does not matter how you connect your 2 new wires. It is not true. It matters because it changes the way how the shifter works. I mean originally it upshifts when you pull, downshifts when you push away the shifter (pre-lci). If you change the 2 new wires they will work in the opposite way, as in downshift, when pulling towards yourself. For normal operation (as original) I recommend connecting the #2 pin from shifter to pin #4 in the plug that connects to slipring. While pin #3 from shifter to pin #2 in the slipring plug. I hope I remember this correctly.
If anyone is interested. Mine is 2006 330d and it does not shift in D (only in DS/M) using this mod. |
