e92 M3 FS
Bit exploratory this, as I’ve seen something I’m quite tempted by, but I’d need to sell this and sort some finance to make the purchase (so I’d need to withdraw if the other one goes).
I bought this in Feb 2010 with 15.5k miles on it. I’m the third owner, the first was a BMW dealer, as this was one of the launch cars and, as such, comes with pretty much every extra. The facts: • First registered 09/09/07 (57 plate) • E92 M3 • 4.0 l V8 • 414 bhp (I had this dyno’d at 424 in 2011) • Manual • Jerez Black with Novillo Fox Red Leather • Sat Nav (the disk has speed camera locations, but it’s an old database) • EDC • Elec Folding Mirrors • PDC Front & Rear • Front Heated Seats • Sliding Arm Rest • Black Carbon look leather interior trim • Bluetooth • HK Audio • Adaptive headlights • High Gloss Shadowline • USB (with iPhone 4 Y lead) • Current Mileage 74,800 • Tyres: Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta o Front 255/35 – 5 to 6mm across the width o Rear 275/35 – New on in March • Two keys • Tracker fitted & currently active Full Service History: • Running in service, 1517 miles, 09/10/07, Chandlers BMW Brighton • 12,730 miles, 04/07/09, Vines BMW Redhill • 27,130 miles, 24/09/10, Birds (Slough) • 42,218 miles, 07/10/11 Cooper BMW Cobham • 58,215 miles , 12/07/13 Cooper BMW Cobham (including pads & disks) • 72,021 miles, 24/07/15 Vines BMW Guildford Servicing on these is condition-based and the last one was the ‘big’ every third service (spark plugs diff oil etc.). This service was £540 with own oil & plug supply, so the next two will be cheaper. Service intervals from the OBC: • Vehicle check 07/17 • Brake fluid 07/17 • Oil 12k miles • Rear brakes 24k miles • Front brakes 24k miles After the initial dealer 1 year warranty was up, I took out the extended warranty and have maintained this throughout my ownership. It’s £91 per month and I can find out if it is transferable. I had this detailed a few years ago and it’s only had the one unauthorised dealer wash since then, all other cleaning is by my using the 2-bucket method. It does have some swirls, but not too bad for a car of this age. The bonnet has quite a few stone chips, there are a couple of frustrating car park dings and there are a couple of scrapes on the F&R bumpers (I’ve captured these in the pictures). The interior is in very good condition. This is a non-smoking car and the leather and trims are all in good condition. There are a couple of top-layer wears on the steering wheel and the off-side door trim. The off-side bolster has a bit of wear, but this was there when I bought the car. I’ve pictured all of these for full disclosure. The wheels all have a bit of kerbing and/or lacquer peel – they’ve been refinished once in my ownership, but I’m really not sure if they’d take another refurb (these are diamond cut and would need to be skimmed) I’ve really loved owning this for the 6 years and 60k miles that I’ve owned it – great performance and handling with four proper seats and a decent boot with split folding seats. You can potter about quite happily all day, but get it into the 7k rev territory and it’s great fun with a descent V8 howl. I’ve kept a record of the fuel consumption over the years and I’ve averaged: • 214 miles on a tank (based on an average fill of 50.5 litres) – tank is 63 litres and I nearly always fill it early! Most I’ve had on a tank is 309 miles • 20.5 OBC MPG • 19.2 actual MPG I also have a set of 18’’ OEM wheels with Vredestein Winter Tyres – will get some more details for these if required. I’m looking for a sensible £16.5k for this, or £17k with the extra wheel set. Private plate not included. Enough rambling, here’re the pictures! (they do make the red leather look a lot brighter than it actually is).
