Shop in Plano/ Frisco
Old schooler here. It has been years since I have posted here. My warranty recently expired and I need a shop recommendation. I have used Spec (Brad), but he is out of business and Autoscope, but they are expensive and I have had a few issues. The car is my daily and getting old so she doesn't need the white glove treatment anymore. I am seeking a trustworthy, inexpensive get-er-done type shop. No fancy waiting room.
I need a clutch replacement and some AC work. Any suggestions? THX-

Inexpensive and BMW don't go hand in hand. That said, I've had good experiences with Ultimate Bimmer Service in Addison.
There are shops in Plano: http://www.bimmershops.com/search?q=Plano%2C+TX I don't have any experience with them though. |

Haha- thanks for the insight. Compared to servicing my 997 it isn't that bad.
Its all relative. Just seeking a "lower cost option".

I too live in Frisco and also frequent Ultimate Bimmer Service in Addison. It ain't "cheap" but its BMW dedicated, not too far away, they do good work and they're less expensive than Autoscope.
P.S is that the Montserratian flag?

I've had numerous issues at Autoscope as well. They quoted me $900 to R&R an MFactory diff. They said you have to drop the subframe to do it. Ultimate Bimmer did it for $450. Guess who gets my business now.

I went ahead and took it to Dallas Precision. Close to my house in Frisco. They let me source my own part (clutch- I upgraded to IS clutch on sale from ECS) so that was cool. I'll report back how it all goes.

Love this shop, and used him for both my 328i and RS4. Fantastic service, and he will do my clutches pretty soon. Very reasonable prices as well. He specializes in BMW but pretty much can do it all, hence be became my Audi go-to shop as well and does everything from maintenance, to performance upgrades/tuning.

Check with Ozzie335i on this forum - he uses an indy shop in DFW - they have done his installs and upgrades - pretty reasonable prices.

I recently took my 335i and x5 to bimmers only off of josey and 635. He also took care of my brother so you may want to go there ask for Freddy.

I'm getting some misfires on 2 and 3 along with a Low Pressure Sensor error and a few other code. At startup, it whistles pretty loudly (like a vacuum or pressure leak), then goes into limp mode.
I've fairly recently replaced all the coils and plugs. Then had a few more coils go bad. When I got the misfire on 2 and 3, I replaced the coils with old ones I had and it didn't do any good, so I am thinking it is something deeper. I have a JB4 and that's about it other than a Cobb charge pipe. I'm in McKinney and would like to find someone who knows what they are doing with the N54. Any recommendations for McKinney area? |
