320d m sport vs 320d B3 alpina
i have seen a write up on a new 320d B3 alpina thats up to 198bhp, it was in the bmw mag in the uk the price was about £27k ish and it cheaper than the m sport 320d but better fuel and i lot faster, so if any one was buying a 320d sport have a look at the b3 it was a better exhaut pipes too, it comes out in may 2006

sorry about the tractor thing. i think all BMW's are nice. I'am originaly from Barbados and came to America and then joined the army now living in germany. I can actually say the first time i saw a BMW was online in 1994 when i got my first computer and i feel in love right away. this is my second BMW and i can't wait for the new M3

Except the extra power a Alpina is exclusiv and not every driver are searching for exclusivity. REmember that alpina is sold by BMW dealer (at least in Germany). it is not a concurent, but a complement to the BMW offer. For sure the D3 is a must, but for a daily use i would rather use a 320d

The E90 320d M Sport has great potential I wouldnt go with the Alpina you can make the M Sport much faster.
We collected our new 320d M yesterday and she will be going into our workshops this week, as we have a proven track record for tunning diesel bmw's we should easily make this one be faster and more economical than the standard 330d. I will keep you posted over the coming weeks. Oh and Hi nice forum Pete |

Just for the record the ALPINA version of the 320d is a called the D3. It's currently available in saloon and touring form. The car is all about preformance and economy - and of course the whole package of the car as its a great handler. Which I can vouch for having done quite a lot of driving in one and also been in one around Donington race track in one.
There will be a B3 - which will be based on the 335i and that will be formally announced at Geneva International motor show this March Here's a mock up of how the B3 should look in Coupe form: Cheers |

I saw a d3 ready for pick up at my dealer a couple of weeks ago. I would definitely go for one over the 320d.
It's like getting the 320d with a re-map from day one with the warranty in tact. |

But don`t forget that warranty "intact" will only be for 2 yrs not the regular 3. When you factor in the discounts available on regular E90, the D3 is far too expensive and basic for what it is. Alpina have put together a good car but Sytners have made a pig of it, I`m sure they`re still making a fat margin having sole control of the market in UK `tho.

The other problem with the alpina is that you cant have any extras only a standard car.
