Opinions please - which front splitter?
Hello good people.
I'm in the market for a front splitter for my e92 and as usual I would greatly value your opinion. I've narrowed it down and I'm torn between an OEM performance splitter and a Kerscher: OEM: Pros: It's OEM (like everything else I've added to my car so far) and probably better quality. Cons: It's not full-width so IMO doesn't look quite as aggressive as some other options. It's more expensive. Kerscher: Pros: It's full-width and IMO looks better. It's cheaper than the OEM (but only by about 100 quid). Cons: It's not OEM (like everything else on my car)... to the extent you could call that a con. Anyway, which one of the above would you go for? Or are there any other options you'd go for instead? I personally am not a fan of the Arkym lip because of the way it fills the corner edges of the M-sport bumper and makes it lose its shape somewhat. Any thoughts appreciated! |

The OEM splitter is very subtle. I had it on my car. Ideally you need a light coloured car for it to be noticeable. Its very well made and the carbon weave is perfect as you would expect. I'd bought a few carbon products before which weren't OEM and the fitment and quality was shocking. The way the lip fits your bumper is very clever and i never caught it on speed bumps.

Cheers. I should've mentioned that my car is black sapphire metallic. That's why the subtlety of the OEM splitter is putting me off - it may be barely visible on a black car!

Im amazed anyone fits a front splitter on these cars. Mine is on stock suspension and the front bumper catches on speed bumps and stuff.
A splitter wouldn't last 5 mins..... |

Although if that was the case then I guess that's an argument for the OEM perf splitter - unless I'm mistaken I don't think it is actually any lower to the ground than the existing corner flaps on the M sport bumper. |

I've been toying with the idea of a front splitter too. Black Sapphire Metallic too which causes lots of stuff to get lost in the black and pointless.
I'm liking that Kerscher though. Got anymore pics from different angles/distances. It's impossible to get an idea on looks as most stuff is understandably displayed on Mineral/Alpine White. And yeah, it's those little vertical flaps that scrape. Only happens to me on one particularly severely angled multistory car park. |

On a black car you may get away with the kersher lip. OEM i think will be pointless in your case as i dont think it will be visible.
On a personal level i dont like the kersher as it just seems like a random carbon splitter attached to the bottom with no real curvature or contours following the existing bumper lines. But each to their own |

Agree, i do not like the Arkym splitter either. As you say it fills the gaps and for me loses the m sport touch of the front bumper.
I was in the same boat when i had my e92. In the end i didnt even do anything and sold the car. Anyone considered just the carbon end flaps? I have added a few pics that i had saved on my computer from when i had my E92. Black car has the oem perf splitter. Grey one i believe was the vorsteiner splitters with a custom splitter attached underneath that. |

Thanks for sharing, I appreciate it because I'm struggling to find any photos of the OEM splitter on a black car! It does look very subtle but pretty cool. I imagine it's probably more noticeable in person too.
The Vorsteiner one is great too, but obscenely expensive and only made for an m3 bumper (I believe) so might be messy to fit to a non-m3. Last edited by CitizenKane; 07-07-2017 at 10:34 AM.. |

Actually i think the grey one has 3DDesign splitters, not vorsteiner.
TBH even the oem splitter looks neat. If you haven't gone too agressive around the rest of the car then i think it will look good. Comes down to weather you think the price is worth the little looks gained. But its the little touches that go a long way. Im sure i seen a guy who had the perf splitter for sale here a little while back, not sure if he sold it. |

By the look of the pics you just sent the splitter looks good. But i guess it depends on the angle that you look at it from.
Also is yours pre lci or lci? As i think the splitter looks better on the lci version |

I still haven't decided what to go for. I've gone off the Kerscher one, but I'm now coming around to the Arkym splitter (despite what I previously said in this thread).
Does anyone know of anywhere that sells genuine Arkym parts in the UK? I can only seem to find Arkym "style" splitters. In fact I'm not even sure who made this splitter originally - if there is a company called Arkym it doesn't seem to have a website or anything, so must either be a fairly small outfit or gone out of business?
