It's my friends car, I've driven it, and it isn't slow, but the 325d has a lot better spread more across the board, he even commented when I pulled away that his car would never be able to do that (pull like that)
But it's got 50% more engine so apples to oranges. No discredit to 320d's I couldn't get the mpg he does on the same route

Just did 300 miles today and filled up, gentle boring driving between 60-70 for 33 miles netted me 51.3mpg, I then went back to the 80-90mph norm for the next 300odd miles and some traffic and got 42.

I checked my on board computer against brimming the tank and it's pretty much bob on.

The thing that's nice is when your sat at 70-80 and want that little push to pull into a spot and not hinder traffic flow, a slight increase in throttle sees a healthy shove, effortless to drive.

I mostly do small roads though normally and it's fun there, but not so fuel friendly lol but nothing would be in that situation,

Long term plan is EGR and DPF delete and remap, should see 300 bhp or more if I'm lucky and similar mpg if not better in same situation and speeds

One thing I would say is it takes a bit to get used to how the auto drives, so don't discount it straight away, if you prod your foot down, it's going to think "he wants to shift, I'll drop him a cog" where as if you slowly lay into it, it'll hold that gear.... romp it and its takes off lol

I've never driven either, but 0-62 stats seems the same for both and it's only 7bhp.
here's a very nice 197, out of budget but I'd try if I were you and it's not too far.

That's brilliant MPG considering it's a 3.0! I get 35ish running my 1.6 Golf at 70mph and it's as dull as dishwater to drive.

I did try an auto 330d, I only got a really small go but it seemed to suit the engine very well. I like the idea of either putting it in sport mode for some fun, or using the paddles in D to feel a little more involved. I didn't realise you could get them sort of figures from a 325d, although yours is the 204bhp model? Is that one not the same as a 330d aside from the map?

Yh so the newer 204bhp is the n57 which is pretty much the n57 330d with a diff map. I say pretty much as they seem to remap a couple of bhp less then the 330d's but there's nothing in it.
They remap very well so I'm told!

Yeah I have read that they are the same a few times, I just wasn't sure. You'll have to let us know what it's like once mapped!

I agree with you there! No leather either!! Not sure what's going on with prices these days but some seem great value and others seem through the roof high.
