Code 242a EGT Bank 1 Sensor 3?
Has anyone had code 242a Bank1 Sensor 3? After researching, it seems this is an EGT sensor. Was wondering where it is located and if there is any way to clean it, or if you have to just replace. Thanks!

It's bolted on to the DPF. Probably has to be replaced. Should be plenty floating around from deleted cars.

Finally got around to changing the EGT sensor last week. Code is now gone and all is well.
I'm not happy with the cause of this failure, which is the Liqui-Moly intake cleaner. I wrote to them and explained how their cleaner caused my sensor to go bad, and they just denied and said they had tested it 1000s of times. Bull.... the picture will tell you why not to use this crap, it just pushes the stuff through the dpf, and causes headache. Don't do what I did, just pull the intake and walnut media blast the valves. Here's the new sensor next to the old one I removed. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bw...I4V2lqUk1rc1hj |
