E90 2006 330i: How To Tell When a Fuel Injector Is Bad?
Hey guys, I'm trying to find out if any of you know a specific way to tell if any of your fuel injectors are bad. I already changed out my spark plugs and coils, but my engine is still misfiring. I did not notice anything particularly wrong with my fuel injectors tho...
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks! |

Do you have INPA or ISTA/d?
Chances are it's a VANOS solenoid or eccentric shaft sensors. Injectors aren't usually a problem on N52 What codes you pulling? |

Getting a proper BMW scanner is the first step. INPA, Foxwell NT510/520, or Creator C310.
Scotty Kilmer is your friend.

The N53 did debut in 2006 according to this Wikipedia link, but looks like the North American market did not get this engine because of the high sulfur content in our fuels. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_N53 |

According to the ETK database the N53 didn't start production until March 2007.
Either way, it never came here and all 2006 330i (Euro models included) were N52s. |

How did you manage to spot the ccv hose as the problem? Did you spray starting fluid around or get a smoke test? I'm trying to trace a persistent cyl 4 misfire on my 328i. Replaced spark, coil and injector but it's still there.

N52 Injector Test with INPA
Quote:
Apparently DME, Activations (Steuern), Injectors (DME | F6 | F1 | F1) will do that (turn off EKP first), but I've never done it. ANYONE who can describe what the activation actually tests? Does it show if the DME actually caused the injector to pulse or does one have to listen with stethoscope for click? Thanks, George |

compression fittings on brake lines. going under cars supported only by hydraulic jacks and everything with more than a PCM is overcomplicated garbage because he wrenched in the 80's and is completely out of touch. I'm amazed he's not dead yet. |

unless you think that compression fittings on brake lines are OK. They're not, and a proper flare union fitting costs a whopping dollar more, oh, and you'll have to buy a flare tool for another whopping $20. So saving $20 on your brake line job is worth using fittings not rated for potential brake line pressures and endangering yourself and others? and that's why he's a moron, and you are too if you believe half the shit he says. you see any jackstands in that video either? what about this one, where he compares DOD engines to variable displacement completely un related. what about this one, where he says that new refrigerant is dangerous, you know that R134 burns too? so does R12. he's a clickbait out of touch moron. |

I agree, the guy generalizes about everything. His mantra is: " Japanese cars are good, all other cars are unreliable. Toyota is the only car to buy. " He never mentions how many good non Japanese cars there are, and US and German cars were the first to bring many innovations we wall take for granted, not Japanese cars.
