Helicopter at 60mph
Hi all
So I hit a pothole about 2 months back, hard enough to puncture the tyre involved. Got that fixed and thought that might be about it. Since then as soon as I get to 60mph there's a lot of throbbing, helicopter-esque noise from the wheel in question which gets a bit better with speed but not much. I got around to having the alignment and balancing looked at, which hasn't fixed the issue, but the garage said that the wheel is slightly buckled which may also cause the noise/judder. Before I shell out on alloys, is there anything cheaper I should be looking at in the suspension or in that general area that could be causing this issue? Thanks in advance! |

You could also consider having the wheel repaired if it's only slightly buckled

Front or rear wheel? I assume its a front wheel so if you are running squared wheels (ie not staggered) then you could try that wheel on the rear where you wouldn't feel it as much and that will tell you if its the wheel or something else (If the wheel is buckled though its likely the problem)

Thanks all - having had the alloy looked at and de-buckled (unbuckled? Not sure what the verb is here!) The problem is still there, So caliper will be my next port of call.
