It actually ended up being that I unplugged the tpms receiver and not the actual module, that was located behind the battery. Unhooked it, turned the car on and the tpms light was no more.

Yesterday I successfully used ProTool for calibrating a 2nd hand DSC module to my E90 M3. I'm pleased with that.
I had to go through the valve calibrations a couple of times before I succeeded. (That may have been some air bubbles in the pump or something else). I had to have the engine running for the app to discover the DSC module. Not sure if that is due to my OBD cable? Cheers, |

Can the ProTool do the Transfer case calibration/fluid life/adaptations needed after you change the fluid?

Well, good question. Like monday, at about 5 oclock, they had a first ten responders on this FB group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/1117168251792172/
and I happened to be one of the 10.. (actually they ended up making it 20..) But, go here.. they got good support and might do another free-bee. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1117168251792172/

The CAS and Footwell module sub-section. https://www.bimmergeeksprotool.com/diy From their site: Coding "How-To's" Delete TPMS Light: 1. Unplug the RDC module. In pre-LCI models it is located behind the carpet and padding on the right side of the trunk. It is a white box that has RDC labeled on it. On LCI models, it is located in the rear passenger wheel well, 2. Code the 3 parameters containing "TPMS Delete" in the coding section of the instrument cluster to "Not Active". Folding Mirrors: 1. Set "Comfort Closing via FOB" in the coding section of CAS to "Active". 2. Set "Folding Mirrors via FOB" in the coding section of FRM to "Active". (optional) Set the "Comfort Closing Delay" in the coding section of CAS to 0ms to make mirrors fold quicker. Delete SOS Light: Note, this light appears for many reason, this normally kills the error.. 1. Set the 2 parameters containing "TCM Installed" in the coding section of the instrument cluster to "Not Active". Video In Motion (CIC only): 1. Code the 3 video in motion parameters in the Idrive coding section. |

Is it possible to use ProTool to program new options to the VO in the CAS and NFRM modules? Also, is it possible to log torque converter parameters? I havent been able to find definitive answers to these specific questions yet.

I have tried some coding with ProTool over the last month. In a way it is coding for dummies, but it also doesn't seem to give a back-up, and doesn't tell clearly where the changes are made. I am wondering does ProTool also change the entire trace file in the CAS, or does it only "hack' individual parameters in one selected module only? What will happen if/when NCS is used in the future? Will it overwrite coding done by ProTool? When I recently replaced my JBBF (trying to make my rear windows work) I used ProTool to make notes (take print screens) of all the coding settings in the old JBBF before I fitted the new one. Then I looked at all the settings just after fitting the second-hand JBBF from an E90 and changing its VIN. ProTool then showed exactly the same coding values for the 'new' JBBF. My 'old' JBBF and 'new' would obviously have had some differences, so it looks like ProTool must be showing the coding values from the main trace file in CAS rather than the actual settings in each module? Also it looks like ProTool is not listing up all the coding parameters for a module, only some selected ones? Cheers, |

The app has come a long way in terms of interface, and I do see it being updated every week or so.
Hopefully they turn it into a more powerful tool. I wish I can change VO, then I can do the CD changer blutooth box setup for streaming music. |
