I wondered about this too. I don't think they are an option. I know that E46 had black/coloured bumper strips, but i think putting any side strips on the E90 would spoil the overall sleek look. Good point though. May be BMW overlooked this.

I am glad that BMW does not put those ugly strips on the e90. Those plastic bumper strips are dated and have a 90's old, dated look about them.

Side protection Stripes
There are in fact strips as an assessorie, at least here in Sweden.
You could get them black, or painted. They are not for sale yet, but will be in a month or so, as they are in the assessories catalouge, and I have spoken to a spare part sales rep. I´m afraid I have no pictures, but they have different part no for cars with and without PDC. Regards Jörgen |

Rub strips aren't effective and they're a bear to wax around. The height and profile of the car door of the inconsiderate b*st*rd next to you determines whether you'll get a ding.

Side Protection Strips
Soulstar-
Thanks for the information! I'm not sure if I'll get them, but it's good to know that side protection strips are available as an accessory. And thanks everyone else for your comments. I kinda guessed that most of you would have negative comments. With the E90's new sleek look it would seem that strips would spoil the overall look. I guess I just have to keep looking for those end space parking stalls. |
