Tcu failure and sos
Quick question. My tcu has failed as I had lost all sound and got the SOS message. I bought a jumper for the fiber optic and now sound came back. I have left it like this for over a year now but finally found a exact part number to replace it with. The question I have is will a tcu failure not show the phone setting in menu or allow the phone button on the radio to work. Now I did use the protool to turn off the tcu for the SOS error and now turned it back on but in the radio menu it doesn't show phone and button doesn't work and just won't to make sure with a tcu failure this is normal so when I get my replacement tcu I will be good. Thanks for the help

I would call up bimmergeeks to see if the protool works in reverse. I thought it just had canned routines.
To code back to stock or original settings on a per module basis 1. Load NCSExpert. 2. Load Profile and select Expertmode 3. F1 (VIN/ZCS/FA) 4. F3 (ZCS/FA f .ECU) 5. Choose E89 (for the E9X) 6. Select CAS 7. F6 (BACK) 8. F4 (Process ECU) 9. Select the Module I want to Revert back to Stock. 10. F2->Choose "SG_Codieren->ok 11. F3->to start coding the ecu with factory settings according to the vehicle VO. Are you using an expert mode profile? Double check that manipulation is NOT ticked in the profile settings... Read the next link be sure to turn of manipulation as indicated to direct the parameters to come from CAS rather than the Man file. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=867263 This is done with NCSexpert from the Inpa suite in addition you need to change the module vin number in cases where there are vin numbers(with tool32) in the module . Might as well look into putting in a Mulf 2 Hi for USB but the programming will be more tricky. |

Thanks for helping me understand but I never changed anything in ncsexport. For the Bluetooth what would the vo be? Is it 639 preparation mobile phone? Like I said I'm just making sure all is ready when I install the new to me tcu. I was just making sure that if there is a tcu failure that it wouldnt show phone on the sub menu and the phone button does nothing.

That sounds correct as far as diagnosing the bad unit.
These are programmable unit if you get lucky the new TCU might be set up for everything but your Vin number in which case it would work right away . But when you pair the phone it will show a different vin phone code. |
