Getting really frustrated with this, hoping someone can help.
My iDrive never knows where the car is. It used to give me different districts on the weather widget or screen but 9 times out of 10 just says 'Internal error, please try again' or 'Provider not available'
When it does work it just tells me I'm in England or if I'm lucky Hull, UK.
It did used to work - I live in a place called Hessle which is in the city of Hull and it used to display the correct location info when driving around the country.
If I use the nav and go to check weather at destination I get the internal error message.
Is it possible that the GPS antennae is faulty? I had the combox replaced by BMW about six months ago so don't think it's that. Would it be picked up on a diagnostic?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I thought that BMW online was deprecated for Combox?

At least in the US due to carrier switch overs...
