You will need some sort of water proof sealant when you put it back together. DONT TOUCH ANY OF THE SILVER/ CHROME PLATING IN THERE. you will be 🤬, if you do. Honestly, if you can fork over $400.00 for a used one, in very good condition, it's worth the time & money. This isn't a fun DIY, and it's stressful. |

I want to open it up for science. and to see if I can do it for maybe future headlamp mods. but really I think that everyone with a broken headlamp because the dogbone cracked could fix their headlamp for like $10 worth of RC airplane linkage bits. so it's just a broken headlamp sitting in my parts room. |

Tried tracking down and fixing 2C6A 02 sensor mix up code. Found out one of the last owners wired in a downpipe fix and wired it all ghetto. Feel like one of the last owners put the car back to stock and then saw their wiring job and went "im not messing with that" then sold it

Using wire maybe, I've cut windshields free using the same technique. I imagine the sealant is pretty similar. Some urethane joint. I'll have to pull that thing out of the parts room and take a real go at it. I would like to put new lenses on both of mine, as they are crazing on the inside, so buffing isn't getting them as clear and crisp as I'd like them to be. Did you find OE equivalent lenses somewhere? |

no sense in putting nasty lenses back on. I have a feeling this means I'm about to do headlamp things. wheels first though. |

same goes with anything that's just screwed/taped to the body. If you can take it off it's easier to mask and paint. final results turned out good. wheel stupidity continues, but at least I'm on the easy and rewarding side of the curve. my start/stop button was sad. ebay five dollar holler isn't perfect, but better than 12 year old one. |
