I'm obviously not an expert on this but I suppose if your car was fine and now makes a howling sound after putting different tires on it could be them doing it. Coincidences exist though so I'd try going to a different set of tires. Which I had an extra one myself to troubleshoot my howling noise

the stub of the cv is what sets the preload in the bearing.
a common trail fix for a broken axle shaft is to disassemble the shaft and use the outer stub just to hold the unit bearing together. running without the outer stub will destroy the bearing in very short order. |

What I have in mind is to disassemble my damaged axles and use the stub or cv joint or whatever it's called like you guys said and have it bolted to the hub to hold the bearing in place while not having an axle there and on the differential side I have different sized cap plugs I could use to cap it.
Hopefully these axles come apart easily, the videos make it look not hard to do but we all know how youtube repairs differ from reality. |

I took my wheels off yesterday and did some checking. My axles have the exact same play in them that you showed in your video. The rears do not have any play. Keep me posted on the result of your axle replacement!

+1 I'm curious as well. Hoping it's not contributing to my low speed clunk
