Changed the front fog lights from the dull yellow OEM lights to nice white LED lights to match the Xenon headlights

I mounted an EC-GTO-BUSSOlA rearview mirror with the three buttons for Homelink.
I can't program the homelink because I bought the mirror in America but I use it in Italy and the frequencies are different and it doesn't memorize my gate. in Italy we have 433.92MHZ frequency, do you know in America what frequency Homelink works?

Picked up an m-sport steering wheel trim for dirt cheap from the local junkyard. It was peeling really badly so I sanded it down and sprayed it with some matte black rustoleum paint

I lubricated my hood hinges, trunk hinges, hood release, hood latches, and door detents with white lithium grease. Then I used lock lube in the key hole on the door.

Yeah. I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel of shit to do...

Though greasing the hood latches actually helped a lot. I had to push pretty hard to close it sometimes.

Shit that looks good. I thought it was brand new. I once tried using Plastidip on it. Looked and felt like crap, so I bought a new trim piece. Matte Rust-Oleum black sounds like the perfect match.

Oh what now

Just changed my oil almost a week ago. Either one of those stupid CCV connections' loose or the extra oil coming from it is extremely contributing to my oil pan gasket leak

what is the sensor scale ?

In example; If it has 4 scale, and 1L between each one, you simply could be @ 20ml from the actual reading ?

I found satin black valspar enamel to be almost a perfect match for the textured trim in gloss level.

I'm thinking I just need a new sensor, it's almost 150k miles old now. I just checked it and to my surprise its at full capacity

Otherwise I don't know what scale it is other than its replicating the two lines you'd find on a dipstick

the scale is the top 1 liter of oil.

I've also had it give erroneous readings if it's taken the measurement and you're parked on a hill.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, but if it makes you feel better, replace the sender at the next oil change.

Thing is I've been on flat surfaces this whole time lol. It's interesting. I might replace it if I find one for a reasonable price

Really, any Dextron 6 approved fluid works. Wouldn't waste my money on spendy stuff, tho.
Thanks for the feedback. I've been feeling wishy-washy about the whole matter.

I was too, in the beginning. Buy one of these cheap IR guns as they are super handy for lots of things besides the trans refill. https://www.amazon.com/Infrared-Ther...X1KG892VQDRMP3. Also get one of these higher volume transfer pumps https://www.amazon.com/Koehler-Enter...8511242&sr=8-2 NOT one of the rinky-dink ones that screw on the top of a gear oil bottle. You're going to be moving a serious amount of fluid and in the final stage when you turn the car on you don't want a tiny pump. These two tools will make it easy.

Start with the car pretty cold. Maybe let it idle for just a few minutes to get the fluid moving, then shut it off and start the process. As long as you get the trans up to temp in the final part of the refill it's really pretty easy. An extra person to help out the car running while pumping fluid stage is pretty sure-fire way for success on your first go around. They don't need to do much, but an extra set of hands pretty great.

You can always just do a drain and refill without doing the filter to build your confidence on the process then do it again + the filter to accomplish the 90% fluid change plus filter at a later date.

this is all excellent advice.
don't be afraid to cut the hoses for the pump to get the most direct shot into the fill plug from the bottle.

you also have a pump to service the diff with now.

I had a BIG day today! I changed the leaky o-ring for a new one on my power steering reservoir cap and cleaned up the reservoir and bracket. It kept me busy for about 10 whole minutes.

Awesome, thanks for the help. I've ordered both the transfer pump and the IR gun you linked. I plan on going with ACDelco 10-9395 Dexron VI ATF, Corteco oil pan gasket, OEM drain plug, OEM transmission filter, OEM fill plug, and the OEM oil pan bolt set.

All I'm concerned about now is the unpredicatable weather (rain fall without warning and air temps between 85-100°F or 29-38°C). I think I'll wait until Winter comes and watch a few videos of people doing this to their own cars. By chance would you happen to know the torque spec for the bolts? And also the pattern to use when tightening all of the oil pan bolts? I haven't read the service manuals as intensly but I will be looking at the Bently manual right after this post.

And again thanks for the suggestions. It's been super helpful and I really appreciate it greatly.

EDIT: According to the bently manual:
Tightening torques for drain plug to transmission sump:
GA6L45R: 14 Nm (10 ft-lb)
GA6HP19Z (metal sump): 12 Nm (9 ft-lb)
GA6HP19Z (plastic sump): 8 Nm (6 ft-lb)

Tightening torques for fill plug to transmission sump:
GA6L45R: 19 Nm (14 ft-lb)
GA6HP19Z: 35 Nm (26 ft-lb)

Tightening torques for the transmission sump: 10 Nm (7 ft-lb)

and the tightening pattern is as attached in the image:

Thanks, I'll be using that as another resource for all things BMW. I ended up answering my question much faster than expected with the bently manual. It's nice to have two points of reference.

Havent drove it yet but excited to see how it feels now compared to the old 167k mile sport suspension
