Add power to 2008 glove box?

Has anyone added a 12V power port inside the glove box a 2008? I know it used to be easy to do that on the 2007s because there was a flashlight charger that could be easily converted.

I'd like to use it to charge a portable GPS so I could leave it constantly plugged in without it being visable to car burglars.
The astray plug would be a hassle because I would need to keep unplugging the cable to hide it when the car was parked.

It doesn't look like I could use the power port under the armrest because there isn't enough clearance to plug in the GPS's power adapter and still be able to shut the lid.

It would be pretty easy to pull the gps out of the glove box when I need it and then just put it back in the glove box when parking if there were no need to plug and unplug cables each time.

The fuse panel is behind the glove box. Check out the various hardwire DIY's for details on installing fuse taps.
