Cure for Boredome??
I haven't been this bored in my entire life.. -___-
I'm tired of computer games.. I don't know if I can watch any more movies.. Playing piano pisses me off now.. I hate reading grand staff. T.V. is boring. and I just realized how big of a waste of time all of these things are.. All people ever want to do is drive places, eat places, go to barnes & noble, the mall, etc.. and that's if they come out of their houses.. -___- wtf?!!? Everyone here either does drugs or is a slut because there isn't anything else to do in La Porte. It fucking sucks.. Any ideas of something I can do to occupy my free time?? I seriously wish I was in the middle of a war right now so I would have something to do. Can any older people shed some light on the situation?? Did life used to be this boring?? -Nathan

Get a job? Girlfriend? Call up a few dudes and hit up the clubs? The idea isn't so much WHAT you do...because doing anything is certainly better than nothing at all.

I'm in your shoes too, I'd like to know how to cure my boredom. Although I think it has a lot more to do with lack of "inner motivation" to do anything, rather than having nothing to do. Doing something just isn't fun anymore, no inner joy D=

Hang out with friends. Even if you're not doing something it's better than not doing anything special alone.

i think what we need is just one huge thrill. You know, something to "reboot" ourselves, in a sense. I'm having troubles on finding what is my reboot trigger, maybe I should try skydiving?? I mean, it might work, falling faster than my car can drive down the freeway at max speed, might give me a new perspective on life =D. Heck, I'm going to phone the company up in the vincinity. Next week it is!!! Holy shit, I should get one of those glider suits and just stay up in the sky longer. @@ This is definitely going to reboot me!!!

It is what you do though.. I'm tired of my friends wanting to go to the mall to just walk around, go to barnes & noble to get starbucks and read magazines, go to stores, go eat, play video games, etc.. The alternative to that is making friends with people that get drunk, party all the time, go to clubs, etc.. I don't like club people.. But maybe the clubs around here just suck.. They are all filled with sluts, guys trying their hardest to be pimps, and old guys trying to pick up young women.. The atmosphere and people suck.. -___- Quote:

Maybe I just need a break from people.. Quote:

I've got tennis, and I used to have hockey.. but nobody ever wants to play/can play.. I feel like I should have grown up somewhere much colder so that I could play hockey more.. FUCK.. Like my friend said I think I just need a g/f to grope, make out with and etc.. when I cant think of anything to do.. preferably one that doesn't spend my money.. -Nathan

sorry to be a buzz kill...but since you are asking for advice...you may want to consider giving of yourself to others...you are obviously very self-aware and mature beyond your years...(something I certainly was not)
time to spend some time being a "Big Brother", go to the nursing home and play the piano for the residents, go to an after-school headstart program and tutor some of the kids...volunteer at one of the county programs for children or adults with disabilities... AND...you will probably find make some new friends that are more to your liking..just my .04 (inflation you know )

Ennui.
Life would be more fun if guys were chasing after you trying to kill or capture you all the time. Sort of like Harrison Ford in The Fugitive. Now there's a guy who wasn't bored. Or Jason Bourne. Of course, that comes with its own set of problems.

try tutoring at an Elementary school it's rewarding and you'll be surprised how different you'll view the world when you start seeing/meeting a lot of people in worse situations...either mentally or financially (maybe sometimes both)
it doesn't take much time and if you don't like it, since you're volunteering you can leave...just try it!

My suggestions:
1. Drugs (alcohol, others) 2. Hobby - photography, collectibles, magic, SCUBA 3. Exercise - run, bike, join a gym 4. Fight Club 5. New instrument (guitar) 6. Pick a challenge, like develop a new skill 7. Join a sports club (rugby, soccer, javelin, frisbee) 8. Hikes through the woods 9. Rescue a dog or cat from a shelter 10. Try painting or sculpture - DIY or class 11. Become a sports referee 12. Fantasy sports league 13. Read, read, read. Find great books. 14. Become a pilot. 15. Volunteer This is your life, and it's ending 1 minute at a time. KNOW that someday you're gonna die. Don't piss away your life. Tyler Durden: "Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off." |
