@Sara
This is the lab. I sent your message to the adoption coordinator. I will let you know as soon as I hear back. My heart breaks for this pup. How do you have a dog for 9 years and say oops we're moving. See ya later |

Because people suck. That is the answer to most questions these days unfortunately.

That's fricking heartless if so. Poor dog. Hope he gets better owners next time around, for his / her last few years. |

Pets should be considered family, imo. You wouldn't just leave your family. I understand if you have military orders or what not, but then again you would think a family member would step in and foster. I guess not everyone thinks the way I do. |

We stayed during Katrina because we weren't going to leave our horses behind. The number of people down here who left their pets and evacuated makes me sick. I'm not saying this is the case, but it might as well be. |

Omg how adorable! People are the absolute worst. About 2 years ago around Christmas I lost my lab I had for almost 13 years and it crushed me. How can someone have a dog for 9 years and just abandon it

Some spend thousands trying to squeeze another year out of a pet (guilty) and some will leave them in a 200 degree car while they go get ice cream. Go figure. As a crusty old coworker used to tell me weekly - "Ain't nothin worse than people". #spoton

It's the worse part of pet ownership, but it always comes. Well, unless you get a turtle or parrot I guess. I've buried a many over the years (never had a horse though) but it's better than not having them at all. It is tough. I took in my dads dog when he died in 2018. He was 12 then and a larger dog that lived outside his entire life. I figured 6-12 month tops and I would not get that attached. Nope. He turned 15 last Monday and has apparently decided to live forever as he seem as good (if not better) than when I brought him home. He has adapted to couch life well........ =)

Yes this kind of crap happens all the time and it's infuriating! People like that do not deserve to own a dog, or any animal for that matter.

Is that to Sara, indeed? You might consider using quotation marks when quoting.

You don't see these everyday either, except for children's storybooks. He's a sweetheart too. Believe it or not he was a rescue. |

Regarding adopting a pet, it should be for the life of the pet. Except for certain situations, like you've lost your home and have nowhere to keep the pet, or you're sick and can't take care of the pet anymore. It should be a forever home for the animal, unless it becomes impossible.

. And yes, at first glance I did think you were mad at Sara. Had to read it carefully. We apparently went to different schools. |

Rocky (top) is a friend's dog that we took in when he got divorced & lost his job. We had to give Rock back after a year or so.... We took care of Noodles often because of a drug problem induced divorce. He was a trooper. Last edited by Littlebear; 04-28-2021 at 02:13 PM.. |
