I chose a manual for my swap - for a DD, I think the DCT would have been a far better choice but I wonder if the manual will be more valuable?

I'm considering selling mine soon. It threw an DMTL evap code a few weeks ago and I won't list it until I get around to fixing it.
A lot of people will often say that a true manual might be the better choice for such an enthusiast car, but to me, the wagon is still a utility/family car, even as much as I've upgraded it. In regards to your value comment, you could be right. We all know the "true manual" cars and the "true M Sport" cars are worth more. However in this case, once we do so much as to create an E91 335, I feel like the car we build somewhat stands in a class of its own. The more you modify a car, the smaller your audience of buyers that will love the car you built. That's just my take. But yes, two identical E91 335 builds, I would say a manual might command a little more.

Now, your DMTL pump code... I had the codes pop up on our trip home after the build. I thought for sure it was related to charcoal canister as that was swapped during the build. However, my issue was a fractured lid of the pressure regulator/sender unit. This is the unit that sits in the driver's side of the gas tank. Not sure what your symptoms are, but if you start to smell gas inside/outside the car, I think you're down the same road I was. The smell will be strongest at the driver's rear wheel well, and you'll get it inside. To check, pop out your back seat cushion. Then remove the lid on the driver's side of the gas tank. you'll notice a small fracture and probably some leaking fuel. The part is about $150 and is an easy install... Good luck!

Thanks for kind words! It was actually Eric's from Garage Welt in CA - I just upgraded the wheels to 437m and added a rack but the rest is to his credit. He does great work with all his builds...

The wagon is my daily - also have an e90 6MT so I find myself often reaching for the clutch when starting up the wagon and grabbing for paddles when downshifting in the M3 LOL. I will say, the F31 engine has nothing on the N52 - forgot how silky smooth those manual shifts are until my buddy just picked one up recently. Such a great powertrain.

I live in South Florida and I will say BUYER BEWARE of FL rebuilt title cars. Some guys do them very honestly, but down in Miami, noooo way would I trust that thing without an extremely thorough PPI...

Side note, I'm curious what the name is for that interior trim... Anyone?

This^

I've seen many cars for sale that have been rebuilt that look good in pictures but we're zip tied shitboxes when you went to have a look. I general stay away from rebuilt unless it's too cheap.

This guy that's selling it has MANY BMWs for parts in his profile so might be a safe bet that this car is from the auction.

Ad says it has M aluminum interior and trim whatever that means

Yeah, I saw that.. It appears to be the glacier silver trim, similar to what is in the 335is. I didn't know we could get that trim over here, I've only see the glacier silver in the UK (RHD cars), and of course the factory 335is dark glacier silver we get here (what I really wanted to do!) is only coupe/convertible.

I'm trying to go factory 335is as much as I can.

Yep, that should be "Glacier Silver" interior trim set in that car. That's what it looks like based on the photos at least. The glacier silver is the lighter version of the 335is style trim. Glacier silver has the "cubed"/diamond embossed look to it.

There is also brushed aluminum and Titan silver. Which sometimes look similar.

That is a cheap as hell.
If properly repaired, that is a steal.

Buttttt, they did opt out of the m sport bumper when repairing and got an m4 bumper. The price difference is minimal. Wonder if it was just for style/taste or to save some $.
Don’t fall for the “upgraded m4 bumper” bit. Those bumpers are a downgrade on any e9x.

Ok I thought so as well but haven't seen a set of glacier silver stateside. I think I'm going to try my hand at wrapping some trim.

Absolutely agree… it's the Miami factor. The car scene down in South Florida is interesting and so many people just do the new ///M stuff, regardless of anything else. A lot of lame cars loaded with fake M badges.

Minus the bumper it looks good in the limited photo's....wondering why no front shot? Thinking it would detract from the sales.

WBAUT9C56AA189766

Ugh, I always hate to see unicorns get totalled, especially Le Mans Blue ones! This was (thankfully) the only LMB with beige interior. Check out those manual seats If I lived in FL it would be hard to pass up this "white elephant", can't believe it's been posted for 2 months now...

And it is indeed 4MG Glacier Silver Aluminum trim - an M Sport only option

For a wagon in that spec, I'd be willing to take a chance and at least take it to a body shop for a frame inspection. If it's straight, who cares? But agreed on buying a totaled car from Miami is a risky idea.

Indeed, there is a whole lot you could avoid/learn from a simple inspection. Step 1 is usually me or a friend checking it out in-person, if it passes have a trusted shop do a full PPI. Can still miss a few gremlins

Frame being straight is step one. There is a decent chance the car has been in water above the headlights.

Chance it has been badly wrecked. Yes.
Chance it has been badly flooded. Yes.
Chance it had awful maintenance. Yes.
