if so get quotes from zimbrick and somewhere else. then when you get your check (or if you're just gonna pay out of pocket) visit Rory from CarStar Quality Auto Repair on East Wash (between Ingersoll and Baldwin). They did great work on my 328 when it was damaged and their labor costs are like 30-40% less than anywhere else in Madison. You can save some $ and maybe even pocket some of the insurance money from what you save. |

I'm going to pay out of pocket but I appreciate the tip. I'll give them a call. It's just one small spot on my bumper but it's killing me. Plus I'm planning on trading up next year so I'd like to have it in the best shape possible for private sale or trade in.

Yeah hit them up... same price for parts as Zimbrick but these guys work much cheaper.
Ask for Rory, he's helped me out a few times. I'm the guy who's black BMW got hit by a FedEx box on the highway. |

Guys, I used to live in Madison (went to UW for undergrad and grad, now doing MD in Boston).
One of the best hidden secret in Madison, WI: Kelly-Moss Motorsports on the other side of Fish Hatchery across from Zimbrick Autobody. They work mostly on Porsche and race a bunch of 911s regularly. They actually have a full service body shop that work on all high end models and the body shop manager, Gary, is very good. Here's the webiste: http://www.kellymoss.com/indexmain.htm Contact Info: 3017 Perry St. Madison, WI 53713 (608)-274-5054 (608)-274-6252 Fax

The body shop is priced competitively against Zimbrick as far as I remember. It's been almost 4 years since I was there last.

There's also a shop on W. Beltline Hwy close to Hardee's, but I forgot the name. They do all those quick paint chip repairs, PDR, curb rash repairs, etc

autocolor is who Zimbrick uses. However I think you get a better price if you go through Zimbrick, at least that is what I have been told. I do know for a fact that Zimbrick uses autocolor though as they did some work on my car there...

Hey, which jurisdiction do you work for? I saw a crazy video the other day on TruTV (aka CourtTV), and they showed a video of the University of Wisconsin Police chasing a guy who stole a donut truck.

Yeah I remember when that happened. Not too long ago actually. I think that was either our case, or we had the pursuit... City of Madison, our K9 Unit had the pursuit and the video from my understanding

It was freaking hilarious when they showed the video with the donuts and racks flying off the truck. However, it got scary when the guy try to back ram the UW police cruiser with the truck

Anyone have a recommendation for a muffler shop? I just recently ordered a Borla catback exhaust for my 335xi and need to get it installed in about a week or so.
I might also have the shop install the bms double intakes as well if they don't charge too much extra. Its good to know we got several members from Madison here on the boards! P.S., I just took delivery of my e92 a month ago and last week I joined a impromtu mini 335i meet. Was actually pulling into woodman's to go shopping and noticed two 335i's parked close together on the far end of the parking lot and I joined them in parking there. Three 335's parked together in Madison counts as a meet in my book! |

i ended up taking mine into Chicago for exhaust however you can contact dynotuned.com, they are up past the airport, ive been there twice with my Acura... not sure how they are on the imports. KellyMoss is another option. Or just could just call around to CarX or meineke or something... maybe the forgin car repair place on regent too. as for your mini meet, i know how you feel. I saw Kepford near camp randall the last 2 tuesdays and consider that a meet... even though we've never spoken face to face. |
