Any ideas?
Did your 1b.hex file contain a generic/incorrect VIN of 1234567 (characters 27 to 33)?

If so, refer to my previous comment for an alternative option: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showp...&postcount=283

The 'By Date'/VIN function is "experimental" and may not work.

Do you have a screenshot or example of what or even how to read the 1b.hex file? I have a sneaking suspicion that what you've described is what might be the case in my instance. Admittedly I have limited-to-none experience coding so this is mostly all over my head and any write-up/instructions are all written from the perspective of someone who is familiar with hex editing/console commands and I'm just trying to make sense of it all from a completely uneducated perspective

You could use a hex editor like https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/ to open the file, there is even a portable version.

You'll need a HEX editor program, so you can view the 1b file (I use HxD from https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/ ).

Refer to screenshot below showing generic/incorrect VIN of "1234567". See where the highlighted "1234567" is under 'Decoded Text'? That's where the last 7 characters of your VIN should be.

This is perfect

I'll take a look at it again in a few days when work cools back down. From what I understand is that if I have the generic VIN (1234567), I should be able to edit the file to replace it with my VIN, and (in theory) I should be able to start generating valid FSCs, correct? Or would I only confirm that I absolutely have to pull the correct 1b.hex using an ENET?

The file itself must be the correct one from your car.

I'mnot sure I quite understand
Does that mean I have to pull the 1b.hex as outlined in the above method using an ENET or will editing the VIN suffice

No, even if you edit the VIN, it still won't work. The whole file is generic and useless.

You would need to use an ENET to OBD2 Connector to download and edit a different file ('generalPersistencyData_DiagnosticSWTController') . See my previous comment above for the alternative option.

I have some problems generating the FSC Lifetime code for my Cic navigation.
The update of ilevel has been made.
Even if i try generate a limited time FSC and put it in navigation, i received an error. Wrong Code.
Does anyone solve this problem?

Have you download the 1b file from your car?

Is the file consistent with the correct VIN showing?

The message indicates the 1b file is not correct or not the right size.

Yes, the file it's been written with my car VIN.
Indeed, it's not the correct size, but i don't know why...

Check the thread about the 123456 1b file VIN problem.

It goes into detail about fixing corrupt 1b files and checking their length or padding the contents.

I wanted to use the "By Date" method in the BMW CIC/NBT Keygen v1.91 generator.
Sadly it didn't worked.
RSAKeys.txt seems to have only have one entry, so this cannot work, right?
Since I have a NBT NEXT navigation system the alternative is to buy a code from my dealer or to trust some sellers on the internet that don't have any site notice.
If someone can generate a code for me I will show my gratitude.

I also had trouble getting the 1b file from the car. The video that Penfold2105 made and shared with us is very good. After formatting the USB 32FAT I made several unsuccessful attempts to pull 1b file on my own. Faraz (Penfold2105) was kind enough to walk me through the steps again. He suggested that I should select 8192 bytes for the allocation size when I format the USB (32FAT). I think I had it on “default allocation size”. He also suggested to let the car run while doing it. All my previous attempts were with the key in and push of the start button.
Well, after making this adjustments it worked.

With his help I completed the process of updating my 2011 maps to 2021 Premium. Thank you Faraz!

I've had issues in the past too - will try the change to allocation size too next time - thanks for the tip.

I had success here installing 2021 Premium but I needed to use the Windows version of the FCS generator. Try as I might I could not get the Mac version to open.

I had success with a Sandisk 32gb USB 2.0 drive. They're like 6 bucks and already formatted to FAT32. I deleted the sandisk crap out of the root and proceeded with the typical steps. I did not use "By Date" and I did check the Lifetime setting.

Jagaer - thank a lot for great tool.

My E-fleet has been updated to most recent maps version without any issues last year.

Last night I spent time getting tooling ready for F25.

First, it took me some time to identify NBT version - my build month was right at the split.
Next I managed to confuse 32G drive (thinking it is 100G) and desperately trying to fit 2021 Maps onto it.
Once I realized it is 32G I moved to 2019-1 version (barely made it).
After some struggle with relocated VM, Esys, formatting, etc I got the FSC file of the NBT unit.

Final step still puzzles me:
Once I plugged in USB, the NBT picked up maps update WITHOUT asking for activation code.
The upgrade (to 2019-1 NEXT) was successful.

I'll try latest maps in a few days when I get new 64G USB.

The 2022-1 NEXT upgrade required activation code.
Lifetime option was not valid, the version-specific worked.

You need your current original FSC Code or a new one.
