Feeler FS post: M2/3 oil pump upgrade kit for N55

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
I have all the parts to swap in the F8X M cars dual pump oiling system.
The F8X oil pan, oil pump, secondary oil pump, pick up baffle, oil chain guides with tensioners, chain, sprocket. Everything is from a 2019 M4 except oil pan which is from an older model year car. but its the aluminum revised one. not the early oil pan.

Ignore the rod in the picture. thats not included.

Will be putting my project on hold for a while so if theres any interest I will sell this.

$1600 plus shipping or you can pick up.

What part of cali are you in? also, what year N55 were you planning to install this in? Asking because I have a PWG n55 on my E82 and can’t find anyone that has verified this will work on my car or a PWG e9x.

Im in Sacramento. This was going to go into my 2012 n55 with pwg. Why wouldnt it fit? It has no relation to the turbocharger.

Trying to find where I read it but I saw some information that said the oil pan may not clear the subframe? I believe you have your subframe and motor out. Have you verified it would clear or the profile of the s55 pan matches the n55s? I have not been able to find anyone that has done this retrofit on a 135i other than a YouTube video with someone that installed an s55 motor but there aren’t any details on how that install was accomplished. I just don’t want to make the investment and do the job without knowing it fits for sure.

Thanks for the pictures. It looks like the pan will clear right? The other issue I am reading about is on the older n55 the tensioner on the oil pump chain is spring based and the newer style is hydraulic based like the one in your pictures. The hydraulic tensioner mounts with two screws. My block with the spring tensioner only had a spot for one screw. So I need to figure out if using the s55 oil pump chain is required.

Not quite sure if i fully understood what hole in block you are talking about but you need the s55 oil chain guide as well like whats in the picture. The metal one with sprockets.

How does hydraulic steering prevent upgrading the oiling system?

My steering pump is bolted to the pan. M2 oil pan doesn't have any mounting points for it cuz its electric steering.

That's interesting. I have not seen that. It should share oil pan with 135i. Are you 100% sure?
